i actually don't agree with it, it is funny. i'm an atheist because i don't know what happened and i don't claim to. i have no idea if any or none of the religions are real, though i tend to lean towards most scientific explanations (though most certainly not all) and am simply waiting for the day i know for sure.
well, as far as what I belive.
Existance is self proven; everything in "this" existance is in motion, always has been, always will be.
then I also belive in the term infinity, as in, the endless possiblity.
endless existance, endless univirse, endless everything!
Not that I promote "god", (Because I don't belive he "exists" in this plane of reality.) but I don't claim he dosent exist. (not here anyway.)
Everything here is, becuase it is.
nothing more, nothingless.
...
which in turn means existance is pointless, and people tend to reject that Idea. >_>

a little argent, but still a valid point of view. infinity is still a potability for our origin statistically since all humans can do is go on faith for any of it. my own point of view on existence varies on a few levels form ms, but it still doesn't require flaming. please respect his own point of view like i respect yours.
not quite. look up the definitions of them and you'll be surprised. i only know this because someone smarter them me caught me ding the same thing you are.
i also want to say that i'm sorry for calling you a flamer when you were only sharing your point of view. *blush* i took it the wrong way because i was trying to talk down a different fire right before i replied to you and took it the wrong way. you emotes should have made that clear.
an athirst is someone who simply doesn't believe in god/gods. i don't believe because i don't know and have no, "faith" in them. i only speculate on what could be about organized religion. i have belief in specific ways the world work, like karma. that's something i have faith/believe in.
an agnostic is someone who who considers god/the nature of things is unknowable. i myself don't believe that. i believe this is a way to learn, i just don't comprehend it and most likely never will. in other words, an agnostic is someone that can't have faith in anything because they believe know what happens is impossible, end of story.
if you feel i'm wrong here, please speak you piece. i'd hate to part on bad terms.

the reason i thought you were agnostic and not atheist was because of your first comment, where you said 'i don't know what happened and i don't claim to.' i thought you were describing the agnostic principle that states that "the truth value of certain theistic claims is unknown or inherently impossible to prove or disprove," but i think you were actually talking about the big bang theory, my mistake!
it still seems like you are agnostic though, because you say "i don't believe because i don't know [if there are gods]," whereas an atheist would say "i don't believe because i do know that there are no gods." atheism is itself a belief system in that way. just a religious person knows there is a god/gods, the atheist knows there isn't, even though both claims are impossible to prove or disprove.
i'm not try to challenge your beliefs or anything, just talking terminology and semantics :3

i'm glad we can both be civil about this. it's hard to talk religion with some people without them exploding. glad to know you more level headed then that.
going deeper into the semantics of it, you say i sound more like an agnostic. to be full and true i feel that i am both. i don't not believe in them and i don't disbelieve in them. it's more of a neutrality. a religious form of indifference. if i ever find a way to learn, "the truth" *dramatic music*, i'll unhesitating change my beliefs to better fit that religion/lack there of because then i will know. my hope for finding out the answer before i die doesn't exist. i don't seek the knowledge, therefore i doubt i will find it.
the end will come regardless of my belief in anything or nothing. i will know what happens after then. that 's all i'm really concerned about. i don't really know if god's up there watching or if it's eternal nothingness after life. there's nothing i can do to change that, so i don't fight it. i refuse to be someone else because of the great beyond anyway. i consider myself a good person and live to better the lives of those i care about. i don't see any reason at this point to change that no matter the religion that applies.
so, i guess you would call me an agnostic atheist, XD or is there another term for that i don't know?

i tend to feel that there is a flow to events and a rhythm at witch life goes. beyond that i don't really have many religious beliefs.
the infinite concept is something a lot of people have a hard time wrapping there heads around. i don't think anyone on the planet can fully comprehend it, just the principle behind it. same idea as light speed and all that. XD i tend to lean in your direction of thinking most of the time, yet there are a few variations i wont go into. mostly because i'm tired and going to bead after this reply/cigarette.
pointless life seems the most realistic to me as well by the way. man kind just has a hard time excepting the idea that there might not be a reason/why/how for our existence.
p.s.: i can't help but say something if for no other reason then that i love your art and i'm bad at holding my tongue. are you still up for doing that request at some point, or should i take it off my reminder list? i won't hold it against you if your not up for it anymore. i just have this thing about, "expectations" and "knowing when/if." i'm sorry to keep pestering you about it.
p.p.s.: night night man. zzzzzzz *snore*

*to when you wake up*
what I think of when I think about god, and the existance of anything; I think of this senario:
What happens, where earth is gone, and everything that was on it dead.
Did fighting over such petty endiffrences matter? the time we had spent killing and patrionizing each other could have been spent more productivly. We think we are better than animals, and thats why we will never know truth, by deluting reason with only thought of our own hides...
ah, makes me cry...
actuly I do cry alot over that kinda stuff...
people tell me Im a pussy for crying over it, I tell them to go fuck themselve.

i indeed love handlebars and have both the music video and the album on my pc. XD it is indeed a tear jerker and it touched me deeply as well. ironically i shown the song by a friend of mine, i'm sorry to say about him, but is to dim to understand the meaning of the lyrics. :(
as far as your scope of our insignificance in the scheme of the universe goes, i think your only seeing half the picture their. you say that our wars and fighting is meaningless in the long run (and i wont argue that). my question is then, what amount of good could we do on our little planet that would have any more of an effect?
i know this sounds impossible, but i think you need to narrow your perspective just a little bit. the rest of the universe if fun and important to contemplate, but it is having about as much effect on us as we are on it (as far as changing effects go) and short of another doomsday meteor of the inevitable burnout of the sun (that i doubt we'll see anyway), universal things are gonna keep going as the do regardless of us thinking about them.
i guess what i'm truing to say is that our effect on the small part of the universe is all we should be worrying about on a daily level. to look so far beyond is like trying to use a spyglass as a microscope. you can never see anything right in front of you, for good or for ill.
i'm basically asking you to focus on your life and those you care about for such moral stipulations. contemplating the universe/multiverse is fine and i do it myself quite often. i only ask that you keep perspective as to both the light and the dark when you think about insignificance. all we can do a this point is focus on making life better for ourselves and those around us. trying to affect all of existence is a little to lofty of a goal for any mere human.

Well, good luck with that. Have fun with your self proven existence when frankly no one gives a shit. So, if God is in another reality, why the fuck are we on some other plane of reality? Frankly, My life is not pointless and saying life is pointless makes people sound like a Emo. I mean, one of those whiners.....I smack people like that. We are better then animals because we are smarter then animals but we can learn from animals. Here's frankly what I think of people that don't really believe in anything in general. When you die, I hope your not on my side of the fence. Your not getting my steak dinner. Period.
i have to admit that the delivery needed some work as far as niceties, but there's no need to flame him.
i tried to raise some points and i think you might agree at least a little bit if you go threw my conversation above. i would like to think that i have respect for all systems of belief and think that no one should push their views on anyone or seriously make fun anyone for their beliefs. this includes things that will contradict the way i view things. it's up to each person to make that decision for them self.
in short, i'm guess i'm saying, "it's a joke, don't take it so hard." he can have his views and you can have yours without insulting each other.
ok, i'm ready to be flamed and yeld at since this is normally how my attempts to put out these fires go.

i'm sorry of accusing you of flaming, but i know that might get some of the people i know yelling at you in that same way. it could be considered that they atarted it at that point, but then we're getting into the, "eye of the beholder" stuff.
as far as belief goes, having a way you think the world is is still a belief. just because there's no god or divine meaning behind it, doesn't mean the person fails to believe in that. it's just radically different from the normal concept of religion.
i encourage you to respond to this. i only am saying this as a matter of debate/conversation, not argument. i have done my best to be respectful and not insult any religion or belief in this journal. please don't be mad at me for wanting to share my perspective.

it's interesting that you say that. me and ms got deeper into that in the above conversation. seems me and ms both have more of an infinite/endless/beggingless view on how things might be. he's more firm in the belief well i only hypothesize.
it's still fun the see little jokes like this. it only saddens me that so many take it as much more then that.

I believe unicorns are dying off, as a result of the army using their hair to make their vests from...
I also believe that people think about this stuff way to much, and weigh the possiblities so deeply that they have been swallowed by the black hole of confusion/denile that they've given up on any reasonable conclusion.
I want a shirt that has this on it.

oooooh, hahahaha confused me there for a second, I was getting a bit defencive.
I was about to bust out alot of logic and vocabulary. XD
Rligion is just an entire psyciological mind set, a system of morals hidden under the belife in a divine being. I can't say that I really hate religion, but more like I hate the fact that people are lying to them selves and don't want to take respocibilty over thier actions.
