Lastik is sore and confused
Yey, clickbaity title!
Both are true tho, but for good reasons. I'm sore because I've finally decided to get healthier and joined a gym. Had my eval on monday (actually better than I expected TBH) and already started on the plan. I'm doing 4 days a week, mondays, tuesdays, rest on wednesday, thursdays and fridays. WAL SITS ARE EEEVIIILLLL and that my trainer put those on both my plans, is proof he hates me and is a big booly!
The confused part is in regards to FF 14.
I'm on the last part of post Heavensward, just done defeating Titan (HOW MANY TIMES MUST WE DO THIS OLD MAN!), and heading towards the very obvious trap set by Urianger. Gotta say so far my two favorite characters have been Aymeric and Urianger (couldn't resist and looked up a bit on Urianger, and his concept art for Shadowbringers looks badass!).
But anyways, I dinged 70 and unlocked my last two classes, reaper and sage. My confusion is this, I want to take up a healing class and I kinda like the aesthetic and gameplay of Sage. The whole thing with shields and Kardia is very remniscent of Discipline priests in WoW, but at the same time I fear it might conflict if there's another shield based healer in the party (be it scholar or another sage). I'm also somewhat scared because it's a role that has more responsibility than a dps. If I'm in a trial or raid and die as a dps, I'll prolly get rezzed or folks won't have a prob finishing even with me floor tanking, but if I die as a healer, shit will prolly hit the fan.
Even as a tank it's prolly easier. Has a tank I can check a vid on a trial or a dungeon to know how the layout or mechanics are and those won't change. However as a healer, there's no accounting for the human factor!
My question is this, what's you folks opinions on the several healer classes and which one you think it's best for a new player to ease into the healing role?
Other than that, been sketching the yearly Velma, but I feel the one I'm working currently is a bust. I like the body type and shape, but there's no narrative going. Back to the drawing board with it I guess... literally.

FA+

-DPS, you focus on yourself and the encounter mechanics, your performance is reliant and focused on your character alone. If you die, the encounter goes on and the party might be able to pull through or rezz you.
-Tank, instead of focusing on yourself only, you need to have situational awareness of the entire party/ raid while keeping the encounter mechanics in mind. If you die, the rest won't be long to follow unless there's an off-tank available, so it's a step up in difficulty from DPS (IMO). Still, if you check the encounter beforehand on YT to know what you're gonna be dealing with in advance, there won't be much in terms of surprises.
-Healer, everything about the tank with one super-duper, extra special spice added to the mix, human factor. No amount of YT vids you see about an encounter will prepare you for the shenanigans your party mates will do.
Side note: Heard some rumors that the next class gonna be a hammer wielding Green Mage, a support type. Dunno if it's gonna be healer or magical dps (sorta like the bard but magic type). Will be interesting to see, with a hammer could even be a melee support type!
Also, just done that extra long fight and cutscene with the warriors of darkness (when they finally return to the First with Minfillia), really good stuff. I'm almost done with the post Heavensward content by my reckoning.
Green Mage is pretty likely, as we should be getting another caster, and hints in current content look like the green mage symbol. We already knew we'd be getting another Scouting type melee class to go with Ninja and that ended up being Viper instead of Corsair.
