I have always had very good luck with Hewlett Packard products. This is my 3rd HP computer and probably 5th scanner.

The comps have “died” of old age (as all comps and hard drives will eventually no matter what the brand name -- so always back up everything!) and the scanners have been each newer and bigger with more bells and whistles. This one scans, prints, copies and faxes.

HP also has a pretty good on-line/phone Service Department (India) that has saved me at least twice, big time.

Don't know if you're still looking, but we have a Canon all in one thing (MG3500 series) that works really well. I think we picked it up for about $150 off Amazon. Probably cheaper now since it's an older model.
