I think having the name 'Solena' attached to everything is much more convenient than 'CrydenSnowberry' in the long run.

I had a thought just now about whether or not artists enjoy Artistic Freedom on a piece of art they are commissioned, or if they prefer a more solid idea to work with.

Just so we're on the same page: Artistic Freedom is giving the artist free reign to do what they like with either an aspect of a commission or even the entire commission. As opposed to a commissioner clearly stating what they want for a commission.

Do you like being given Artistic Freedom? Or do you like being given more direction for a work of art?

Do you think it's lazy on the behalf of a commissioner to provide artistic freedom because they don't have an idea themselves? Or are you just happy to be given the chance to flex your creative muscles?

If you have any other thoughts on the topic feel free to share them!

I've been having a bit of a taur craze recently and I was curious as to what the general consensus on taurs is?

Do you like taurs? Do you not like taurs? Do you not care one way or the other? What do you like/not like about them?

For me personally about a year ago I was very indifferent towards them. But they've grown on me a lot in recent months and I've really started to love them as a species.

Dear All,

Due to the result of the UK's referendum on whether or not to Remain or Leave the EU, I'm sorry to say I will have to stop commissioning artists for some time.

This is due to the need to save the money I earn to hopefully speed up my plans to move out of the country (a plan that has been in the works for many months by this point), and I cannot afford to spend it on luxuries such as artwork.

I am sorry to those that have enjoyed seeing art of my characters appear in their submissions inbox.

Once things have stabilized in a few months or even years, I may consider commissioning again.

Until then I'm sorry for the silence that will befall this account.

Quick question that I've been curious about... since the introduction of Solena about a month ago I've been wondering which of my two character you may prefer. Or maybe you like both equally!

I've been dumping a lot of Solena art recently, and I feel I've been neglecting Corbyn a bit. But maybe people prefer Solena art anyway, or perhaps you'd like to see more of that black-headed jay in your submissions. Let me know!

As you may be aware I'm still quite new to the fandom. I always find it interesting to discuss what captured people's attention and imagination to join the fandom in the first place, what it is they like about it and why they stay. I'd like to hear the same from my watchers and passers-by that might read this journal. ^v^

It's only fair I start...

For me it's the art.

I remember stumbling on images of anthro art some years back and thinking "that's actually pretty nice" and actually saving a fewo pieces of it. (I still have some of the very first furry images I saw saved). From there I started to take a bit of an interest. Fast forward a bit and I remember having a bit of a dragon craze, looking up art and again noticing some anthro art. I decided to look into this a bit and discovered furries.

Through that I discovered everything about them, fursuits, conventions the likes. I found FA, made an account a few years back and have now started to take a serious plunge into the fandom. The rest is history. (And can be seen in my first journal). Perhaps not the most interesting story but a story nonetheless.

As for my fursona, I love birds. I considered a dragon or gryphon but decided normal bird is the best for me. The actual species of bird was because jays are pretty and corvids are smart, and it helped me stand out~

Hello all!

Just thought I'd up write new journal as an update of sorts to my experiences within about a week of my 'fresh start' on FA and furrydom, with a new sona and a new life of sorts.

Within just a week I've met quite a few really awesome people already, I've commissioned a few pieces of art which have turned out wonderfully and really allows me to enjoy the fandom and my character more (and still have a few commissions waiting to be completed!), and have just generally been able to enjoy the last week and have had a lot of fun.

I've tried to reinvent myself with my new bird character Corbyn and I think I'm doing a pretty good job of that so far.

I'm still learning a lot, still hoping to meet new people and get more attached to the community and the fandom.

It hasn't all been sunshine and sparkles though, while trying to reinvent myself I was trying to apply for a new job, and well that didn't really work out so I'm stuck with my shitty one for the time being. Best not to dwell on it though and keep trying!

Thank you to everyone who's helped me so far along my journey and has taken the time talked to me. I really appreciate it.

With everything that's happened in just a week, who knows what will happen in a month? A year? The possibilities are endless and the future is an exciting enigma.

So this is my first journal, hopefully the first of many (and they shouldn't be as personal as this, or as serious). I'm just going to talk a little bit about myself, where I stand currently as a person and within the fandom. If you don't wish to read this you don't have to, I don't mind.

So to begin with, I was never too attached to the fandom or furries in general for a long time, I was very much on the side-lines, a spectator in all of this. It was more like a passing interest really. I liked the artwork but I never really considered myself a furry, or even thought about getting involved in the community. I was mostly interested in dragons actually at the time hah... and I thought of a few different ideas for a dragon characters that would represent me (later did I learn of the term "fursona"), but it was never much more than that.

It was only really this year I started taking more of an interest, I started taking a liking to anthro characters more and started saving a lot of artwork I liked, whilst playing around with ideas and different sonas outside of dragons for myself. Eventually I started being comfortable in calling myself a "furry" and being a bit more involved, but even I never really took a big leap into the heart of the beast and got into the meat of what the fandom had to offer.

Hopefully now I'm going to change that.

As you may be aware I have just recently gotten a new fursona named Corbyn, he's a black-headed jay which  royalty helped me design. I adore birds so hopefully this is a good match for me. Originally I was going for a blue jay for my new fursona, but Royalty suggested I try for something a bit different and a bit more unique. After browsing around I stumbled upon the black-headed jay, which instantly caught my attention as a gorgeous bird. To my surprise they're didn't appear to be any currently in the fandom so I took the opportunity while I could to stand out more.

So hopefully with this new bird fursona and a new more involved attitude I'll be a lot more interested and involved in the furry community, potentially attending conventions, thinking about fursuits and the like. You might see me around and think "hey, I know that character". That's kind of what I hope to achieve anyway but I'm a long way off that right now.

It's going to be a very interesting experience for me, and I'm looking forward to see what comes from this as I go into the wild blue yonder of furrydom.

I'm hoping to start getting some commissions too because it's probably the best way to get started. Plus I really love anthro art now (especially birds).

And perhaps if I'm motivated enough and try hard enough I could start drawing some art of my own. Who knows?
