Thanks! I'd been hearing some complaints lately about price and storage space, and I'd also been thinking that we hadn't seen a really cute ride-on toy in this style from Intex for a while. Well, not in the USA anyway. The Bambi and Simba rerun they did in parts of Europe never made their way over here. It looks like they ruined the Simba with that nasty black plastic bar across the top of the toy. So I decided to just do something like that with an animal I've never seen used in an inflatable toy up until I did it the first time.

When discussing it with iw.de, I specifically said no handles and no warning labels, and they did a very good job of that. So IMO I'm already out in front of an Intex toy. I hope they price these reasonably, I still haven't heard what they plan to put it at. They're also going to be doing a matte version for people who prefer that.

Cool! It's very stylish. What's the size of it? Comparable to the Intex toys of the same shape, or a bit bigger?

It should end up being about the size of Intex toys of the same shape. They wanted to make it huge, but one of my design goals was compact. Ideally enough so that it should be easy to leave inflated all the time. So it probably won't be a good toy for a grown adult to take to the pool. I did tell them they were welcome to make a scaled up model as well, but they don't seem to have gone for that.

I'm kicking around an idea for another toy at the moment, but I have a larger wingsuit on order at the moment and need to pay for that before I start any more projects. That should also be arriving sometime in October.

Does it mean it is only about 1 meter long?

About 1.5 meters long.

Well, it looks a bit "fatter" than the usual intex toys. And even these can hold me up in the pool.

Probably around October. They're still in China. You'll probably start seeing more pictures of things in the next week or so.

I meant just the images, I know about the October ETA. So far I've only seen prototype images of the others.

Yeah, so did I -- I don't know where in the process these guys rolled off the lines. If they were the first ones off, I'd expect more pictures to appear as the rest start going through the production process.

Will be waiting to order as soon as possible! Also, what are the dimensions? Without someone next to it, it could be a small sit-on, or a giant sit-on as well.

We were shooting for neighborhood of 60 inches long and 36 inches wide. I believe they got within a couple of inches of that.

Rawr did a great job on the artwork! I told him I wanted to do an intex-style ride on fox and he nailed it in the first rough sketch he sent to me. I've always liked his designs, and I enjoy working with him on these things.

That guy is legendary in the Inflatables community.
