Means "You can't argue with someone who negates principles" in latin, or something.
Anyways, if you're wondering why I haven't uploaded in 2 months, this is why^.
Learning a new gothic script, and if you can't tell, it is difficult.
But yeah, it's developed nicely over the recent few weeks. Just gotta learn diamonds and drawing parallel lines.
It looks better if you're zoomed in, though. So just read it reeeallly closely. Thanks.
And uhh... Ink is iroshozuku take-sumi I believe? De atramentis cherry for the one red line too.

Oh. I usually use a ruler for vertical lines. I have issues with spacing, so that helps quite a bit. About 0,15875mm distance from the left side of a stroke to the left side of the next stroke. Usually requires about a second or two to write a letter. All so I can write "shit" nicely.
Hey! I like your work here. I would request you write a poem, but...
From my own limited experience with Gothic hand, even when simplified, my hand starts to hurt after only four lines.
Maybe this was just due to me being so inexperienced? Or maybe I was doing it wrong?
Either way, I wouldn't mind seeing you do a short poem, or short excerpt from a poem.
Or perhaps you could write out a haiku (in English, of course)? Though Gothic doesn't seem appropriate for haiku, don't you think?
I guess if you can find a proper hand to pen it in, I'd request this famous Matsuo Basho haiku:
old pond
frog leaps in -
water sound
It would be interesting to see how you'd tackle that project.
Anyway, have you ever considered taking commissions on here?
I know calligraphy isn't normally what people look for on this site, but you never know... :P
Keep up the great work!

Honestly yeah I could see poetry working!
That being said, yeah I know about that hand pain too. Heck, got it after this one even.
Maybe I'm just gripping the pen too hard?
But yeah, speaking of excerpts I have done an excerpt of The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, which is fairly long, but is done in a way that I consider a "sketch'.
As for haikus, I'm thinking foundational. Kinda orderly, makes reading syllables easier.
I'm also a year two student for Japanese (not a weeb i sware) and definitely need some practice with my kana. So actual Japanese could be helpful on that front.
I'm orders of magnitudes better at english, though.
And commissions? Hadn't really considered exchange of money on this account, really.
I mean I do requests and trades, which are like the closest to commisions I guess, but I feel like having actual money on the line might put too much pressure on me.
Anyway, thanks!
