Dang, that is some weight!!! My new system is a bit heavier than my old one, but I think its only ~2.5 kg total... (Sony a99 II + Tamron SP150-600mm f/5.0-6.3 G2) I usually carry my tripod and a couple other lenses too, so that adds some weight. Upgrading my camera strap to one thats a bit wider and padded helped... a little. XD
Oh yes I understand, weight is always a certain problem with telephotos.
I think I will buy soon a Blackrapid camera strap. They seems to be really comfortable to use with heavy setups:

That looks like a very nice, heavy-duty sling! I'm not sure if you've heard of Peak Design? If not, you should check them out. I own a Slide and a Slide Lite camera strap, and I've been very happy with both. They use an anchor system so you can attach your straps to several different points on your camera that allow you to quickly move the strap around, or remove it completely, depending on your current needs. You can adjust the length of the strap really easily with one hand, and you can make the strap very short, which I've discovered is useful when hiking with a long lens. (The end of my lens is usually down by my knees somewhere, and I'm always afraid I'm going to hit it on a rock... so I keep my strap as short as possible until I'm shooting.) The Slide is pretty comfortable with my long lens. I have never used a Black Rapid sling tho, so I can't really say how they compare...
