See? Sonic artist. Now hoosh. ;3
Ah, Sally. Poor, poor, maligned princess. It really irritated me, back when it was a going concern, what the comic writers were doing to her character, since for the longest time, she was pretty much it as far as strong, willful female characters went in that book.
With that in mind, I gave her a more action-y look when I drew this. A bit of detail on the boots, black wristbands... they just seemed to fit on a martial-arts student like Sally has been shown to be.
Also, that would make a rocking action figure.

Heh. You'd be surprised, actually. The old Mecha Madness special, for example, gave a perfect showing of what she could do when high-minded speeches and idealism failed. And as for being the possible savior of SEGA... well, that was two different universes. Once Archie got the rights to the Sonic comic, they got to be free to do whatever they liked, to a point. Perhaps if SEGA had worked more closely with Archie, they could have made some sweet games. However, there you have the clash of America and Japan, and what each had done with the little blue buzzsaw on their own time. Too bad Japan managed to be the one to drop the ball this time.
Hey, at least Archie finally told Penders to take the high walk. To an old-schooler like me, that's a little victory all its own.

I havent kept up on them. Started with number one, and dropped out before the endgame thing.
I was very happy when it got more seriouse and episodic rather than small one shot humor attempts.
And actually I think even the first 48 pager had sally practicing some moves against sonic, but Id have to dig my issues out.
