There is a flower that would grow on the highest point on the crystal mountain, and it only grows if there is an eclipse in totality, as the crystalline structure is so fragile until picked from the crystal river. If there is no eclipse, then the flower would grow all ugly and wilted, useless to anyone, it would also shatter at the slight touch. Aegishjalmur was bold enough to just touch the flower, to the surprise of his brother, Vegvisir -- who had a bad feeling that his younger brother accidentally sprang a trap.
