I looked at the chili pepper Croc at first and thought of an Applin first. Gave me major Apple vibes. The shape and tooth reminded me slightly of a Bubble Dragon from Taito's "Bubble Bobble". Pretty short and rounded anyways. Not a hundred percent sure if I'm a big fan of the colors but in general it surprises me that they took another Crocodile into the ranks of starters.
The Cat is also somewhat of an odd surprise geven we have lots of Cats by now. I wonder if it has anything to do with the seemingly Mediteran region. Perhaps the Duckling fits in there as well.
