Weekend of DOOM, Part the Second.
My lovely dental visit and its' aftermath of pain, suffering, and glimpse of Hell was followed, quite nicely, on late Sunday night / early Monday morning by me finally running out of my much-belabored asthma medicine. This necessitated a trip to the ER yet again. I wish it could be said to be pleasant, but sadly, it was not.
It began with me being shunted, gasping wheezing and panting, between the main triage area (which was overcrowded), the ambulance triage (which was even more crowded), and the Urgent Care triage (which was less crowded but filled with indifferent people).
I had entered gasping at 11 AM, and was still unentered into the system, let along relieved, by 1:30 PM. By this time, I wasn't able to think straight, my last dose of ibuprofen, a massive 800mg dose, had worn off and my abused jaw was reminding me of that, and I was watching the wall panels do a pretty swim to the left.
Finally, at long last, I was given the requisite four treatments of Albuterol Sulfate and Iputropium Bromide, each of which ate a solid half hour. Then I had to wait to be gone over, and for them to get me an emergency inhaler, something they successfully managed in only another half-hour. Upon my release from this place, my first action (other than BREATHING, of course) was to hunt down the nearest food and EAT, for I hadn't had anything to eat since some soup on Sunday night around 6 PM.
I shall spare all and sundry the details of a harrowing Tuesday, for it was by no means as filled with epic FAIL as my weekend.
Until next time,

Thanks, lovely one. Still adore seeing you around. Maybe in a few more days this jaw of mine will stop feeling so damn abused.
With much love and snuggles and a foxtail wrapping,
Mika
Loving snugs back, dearest.
Yours,
Mika
I'll see you around, dear heart, yes indeed.
Yours with many hugs and kisses,
Mika
As for being unprofessional, apparently, if you have no insurance, they essentially are permitted to perform NO other operation EXCEPT the removal of the tooth, and the barest minimum of anaesthetic needed to do so in a relatively pain-free manner (note the word "relatively" in there, it bears mention).
I should hopefully no longer hurt in about a week or so, or so I pray.
As for the insurance rep, welll, that one isn't going to get any better anytime soon. I just got my most recent rejection notice, requesting that I provide, for the fifth time, specific documents which I have pointedly explained I simply do not possess. Their answer? Ask for them AGAIN, as if they shall somehow magically appear from the vacuum of space, all a-glow with information I do not have. I'm expecting yet another rejection and re-application soon. I'm also VERY soon going to push this monster to the higher-ups, and likely get my local city councilman involved. The only problem is, I'm wondering if he'll assist someone who isn't his nationality (it's been a problem in this area for anyone NOT Chinese to get any aid from this guy...)
Elsewise, naught much more.
Yours until next,
Mika
As to the dental data, yes, I know. Questionable actions. Put simply, it's the hospital covering its' arse by leaving no proof to be sued over. At the same time, it's them saving time and money on someone they are sure likely cannot or will not pay. I'm certain if I was to pass from this world, it would make the hospital system and the insurance system quite happy, as it would save them paperwork so they can get back on with their main business: making money without the petty distraction of sick people.
He poked it with a pair of blunt tweezers, and after I got a good yell out, I quote, "Please keep it down, we have other patients present."
I wanted to sock him in the mouth, so bad right then, as stagnant, fouled blood was oozing out of my traumatized mouth.
I shall note you with a full alt list on IRC for you to put into your Notify list, thus you shall always know if I am on.
I'm just going to make it an Elysian themed channel.
and so at least with the moist air most times I'm not on ther floor gasping for breath....
However, this asthma attack was precipitated by me running out of my two medicines. The first one, Advair, is simply far too expensive for me to purchase in any way, shape, or form without insurance coverage, as the cheapest, weakest form of it runs $280 for a 30-day supply (1 "Diskus"). That is almost 60% of the cost of a month's rent for me. Unacceptable, insane, and inconceivable!
Without Advair, my asthma is considered "uncontrolled", as I have, on average, anywhere from 5 to 20 small to medium-sized attacks per day, necessitating the use of my second medicine, an Albuterol inhaler.
