I've largely given up on Twitter too. Took my account down to private tonight and removed it from my contact info as I get ready to be rid of it altogether. Bluesky seems to be where it's at, besides here of course.

It's been a long month, mentally speaking, but I'm trying to make lemonade out of all the lemons. Had a productive evening in terms of housework at least.

Used a tweet deleter in November and woke up earlier to find that they were all restored so I'm pretty miffed about that. Glad people are making a Bluesky though they're starting to go down some anti-trans paths :/ still, anything's better than Xitter and I love that people are more active on FA again.

Moderation team is allowing trans members to be harassed and bullied, specifically Aaron, one of the moderators. Also, Jesse Singal is on there and they won't delete his account, a known trans harasser and attacker. Every time there's a moderation or safety and trust update, check the comments. Nothing's being done.
THAT SAID...
Bluesky IS wonderful and the moderation team work wells. Muted words get muted, blocked members can't see you, which works great if you got stalkers. Plus, if you're an artist, you actually get your art seen.

Yeesh. I'm not sure how you can say that and then pivot to how wonderful it is. In any case, I never liked Twitter to begin with for as long as its existed so I have no plans on opening a bsky account. Was mostly just curious.

Xitter has always been a cesspool that engages people in negativity rather than creativity. Good riddance, I say.

I avoid actually engaging in posting on Twitter/X, Bluesky, or Facebook. Those are all I have for public social media, and I still barely rouch them. The toxic communities I have come across just made me decide to avoid these big public sites all together.

Twitter spiraled into negativity with increasing velocity long before it got sold. It’s in the nature of their engagement algorithms and applies to any other social media platform pressing for revenue. Hence I’m not optimistic about Bluesky either.
FurAffinity has remained clear of such methods, for Whatever reason, and I’m grateful about that. Hope it’ll stay like that forever.

twitter is basically 4chan 2.0, left the platform as soon as they announced that they’ll be removing the block feature.

I removed my AD account and left my locked main as a name squat as I'd rather not have some Far Right chud take it. Otherwise all logged out and the app deleted.

Personally I think it should be blocked in the UK and EU as it has been revealed to be a tool to manipulate elections and political policy. It's no longer a social media site. But Bluesky's rise is rapidly diluting Heilon Muskler's ability to influence things.

To be fair, all social media is a tool to manipulate the masses... just a matter of who controls it.

If FA branched into making a furry centric social media platform I think it could be interesting.

There already are a lot of furry-centric Mastodon servers if you'd like to see what that could look like.

FA's staff have a very long history of questionable practices, I would not want them at the reigns for that. Like Sovrim said, there are a few Mastodon servers that already exist and other websites that try to be a furry social media with mixed levels of success.

The idea of decentralized social media is interesting but, it sort of loses the uniting factor and ease of use/access of something like X or bksy. And if its questionable practices, I don't really know any website that doesn't have staff with questionable practices. FAs are just more public than most others.

Strongly disagree due to my lack of faith and trust in the staff but we can agree to disagree.

I made the jump to Bluesky as soon as I could. Currently, my head is a right bloody mess, because my grandmother passed away last November.

every once in a while ill log onto twitter just out of morbid curiosity and end up bailing within like 5 posts
