according to a lot of sources, this bug will either require Sony to send a CD or thumb drive with a firmware download, or you may have to send in your system, though some believe the PS3 will fix the bug itself after a day (saying that similar bugs have happened and the results tend to be the same)

again, it only affects us with the 'fat' models... so 'slims' are safe
hopefully this whole thing is ended today, if not just hold out for more info from Sony
