HAVE SUGGESTIONS FOR THE NEXT AFFINITY FIGHTERS LEAGUE "ORIGINAL CHARACTER TOURNAMENT"?!
"Wrote the names pf the competitors on note paper, folded them as to where I could not identify the names, placed them in a random lying hat in my room, and started picking one by one pairing opponents in intervals of two". - my method...

-You now know the line up for Round One, but this does not mean the OCT has kicked off. We still need character references, a decent map sketch (working on it), and a deadline for round one(deciding one after June due to students getting out during that time).
I implore you to talk to your opponent and read the Rules/Terms of Agreement for this OCT; if their character can be found in the [FAVORITES] section of this account, read up on them, brainstorm what will happen. After I decide the starting and ending date for Round One things will get moving from there.
Best wishes for the competitors!

in orge battle, each "round" of battle was a single set of attacks, mattering on what the unit could do, and the losing unit gets pushed away from the winner, and stuned for a moment, (the stun is minimal in the game, and only high sky units, the fastest movers, would be able to attack again before the other unit had a chance to start moving where ever.) the landscape plays an important roll in battle, as each unit has an overall "best field" they work in, and it can impose stat mods, for example, fortresses up your defense, but lower your agility, while mountians make wind type attacks greater in power, while lowering speed mattering on your movement type.
after all attacks were exusted, the movement of the loser would happen mattering on who caused the most overall damage (status effects were also factored in, mattering on how detramental they were). the placement of the members of the unit also mattered on what they did, but this being one on one, that part couldn't effectively be used, but in general, weaker attacks were faster and done multiple times a round, while stronger attacks only happened once or twice a round.
I thank you for relaying this information, but I'm going to stick with the tradition method of operating an OCT; when you noted on the setting and how it effects user's abilities got me thinking of my favorite trading card game.
and area effects are actually fairly basic in many games, so I'm not surpised that it reminded you of something, where you fight does matter, a forest and a street create different situations.
expect in mid june for the first round to kick off...
