Listen up...
The good news is:
we found out what's wrong with my laptop, it had a head crash with the harddisk
The bad news is:
It's irrepairable
What's worse is that the laptop held all my school information and work...
We'll try something to fix that on friday...if that doesn't work I might have to pay about 300� to 400� to recover the data still on it

I hope everything would be better for you.
Replacing a hard drive is as easy as changing a tier on a car, its just a shame to hear how much computer shops charge, they use peoples lack of knowledge to take advantage of them. Ask around I bet you know a computer geek that could take a look at it for free.
