I still think that estimate is lowballed. :) 713 fursuits is a lot more than that. :)

I agree. That estimate would average just over $ 1000 a suit, and I know many of those folks spent more if not double or more than that.

I did the math, and assuming that 400 bought full suits at $2000 a pop (average) and the other 313 were partials at $1000 or less, that's still at least a million. :) Of course, that's just geek math and it doesn't really matter, but I just thought that was a bit low. :) We furries spend more than that on our hobby. :)

I know KP did a rought estimation at the pawpet show on sunday of an average of $1,200 per suit worked out the value to be somewhere in the mid to higher $800k range.

Roxi... what you should do is make an outline negative, so furry names can be matched to each fursuit.

Well you don't have to fill it in. Just make a digital outline (most Paint or Photoshop programs can do it) of the figures, and label it 1 - (# of fur suits in the picture).

Then let those who attended fill it in... makes for a great "Where's Waldo" type of game.

Hey, I just linked to the photo I saw linked off of the Anthrocon website. I have nothing to do with it, nor do I want to make a digital outline of 730 fursuits. That would be some serious man hours. Just think about it for a second. Tracing a line around one of them would take about a minute at the least. That works out to TWELVE HOURS STRAIGHT. Holy crap, no thank you!

Heh... I was in the photo. I think it would have been kind of tough to climb up there to the second floor and run back to my position and have 729 fursuiters not murder me in the process. :) No problem. :) Brain farts are most of my mental processes.

I got caught in the torrent of fursuits as that picture taking session let out.
The entire corridor flooded with multicolor fursuits.
Best way to describe it was like being caught in a stampeded at Toys R Us. :)
A harrowing experience, my whole life flashed before me, but for some reason it was performed by handpuppets.
