Perfect Thursday and other stuff

I miss two days ago...I wish I can still say yesterday; now I feel more depressed.
During that day I first slept in and experienced some serene and uplifting flying dreams...nothing draconic about them I was just floating, but still one of the most awesome experiences I can have. And I had it twice in a row after being rudely awaken by a empty phone call (so I guess I have to thank that mysterious caller then).
The next few hours were a bit laid-back; just spent them resting and keeping my ankle elevated as always while getting back into the groove of playing Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 days on the DS (on a side note I've been playing the PS2 versions as well. Beat KH1 the night before with everything beaten/unlocked/obtained; Hail to the Ultimate Weapon. Began KH2 shortly after and recently just had my visit with Yen Sid).
An hour before one of my best friends came to pick me up I stopped by work on my day off to receive my check. I ended up picking up two checks, one for the work from last week and the second for (get this) Vacation time I never used (which summed up to 58.6 hours worth and, at my current pay, came to $430). I got paid nearly $700. I was stoked. I'm, of course, sadden that all that money will soon slip away as it will eventually go towards my phone and car insurance bill (which won't be more than $150) and then to my Doctor's bill [Whenever that finally comes in...unless my work's medical provider already took care of everything (which I believe came to an estimate of $300-$400...for a lousy visit to make sure my ankle was just sprained and not broken)]. But, still, it's always nice to dump fat wads of cash for safe keeping into your bank account once in a while, right?
When my friend picked me up we went to Antioch to visit another friend that just recently came back from a South America trip. I enjoyed the drive; I never get a real chance to just drive off to places I've never been to and take in the view and understanding of just how much of the world (of California) I have yet to explore. A lot of the scenery was industrial, open and dry, but it was fulfilling nevertheless. I need to make more trips like this.
As for the visit, I can't say my traveling friend had a better time than me and my other friend but we sure had a nice time just talking and reminiscing about the last few years of our lives and of possible futures. By now he should be heading back to Colorado for the fall and winter.
On the way back we got a hold of a few other people to see what they were doing. We had originally planned to see a movie that day too a while back, but one of us has a kid and the only babysitter he could trust was his ex-wife...but he would need to pay her for gas money just to come down and take care of their son. However, fate apparently brought his brother to his house that day and by the good graces and luck of the day he agreed to babysit while we went to the movies.
We made it back to town with plenty of time to meet up with the others, take care of a few "extra activities" and have enough time to spare to get to our sits as the first trailer started, a new trailer for Tron: Legacy at that. BTW, the movie of choice that night was Resident Evil: Afterlife. Thinking about it now I realize its dvd/blu-ray versions might not hold the same impact as watching it on the big-screen (with 3D and D-box combined), but it was still one sweet movie. I suppose I could nit-pick at a few minor details, mainly regarding Chris Redfield and Wesker key relationship not really utilized in the film version, but I LOVED the Redfield's vs. Wesker moment at the end. I'm also going to have to look into the lore of using coins for Shotgun ammo, got a pretty strong feeling that is just a Hollywood thing but that would be sick if Quarters could do as much damage as blasting off one's head :D All and all, despite what other critics and people say (and for the record you can say what you want about the movie but don't expect me to argue with you on anything; I'm too tired and care less about trying to make my reasons sound plausible) I surely was entertained enough to leave the theater with a stupid happy grin on my face.
Along with watching an Awesome match of brother-brother co-op at Call of Duty Nazi Zombies (upgraded pistol makes niiiiiice Boom-boom's ), I truly considered Thursday too be a very glorious and perfect day. Everything just felt like all the pieces were plugged in cleanly and that nothing dampened my euphoric mood the whole day. Days like these are hard to come by and there's no guarantee when one like this will come again.
...I know!!! When my current prick of a boss leaves again; that will be another Perfect Day XD Sadly, it's beginning to look more and more like he's making himself at home...again u_u
In Other News: I'm putting in two more commissions soon thanks to the sudden surge in profits I've attained. I'm hoping that making some reference sketches for what I want will spark up my attention to draw again, if not write. I've just hit a massive brick wall lately with my creative flow that it's become sickening. Hope for the best.
I may also be making a return to the IM scene soon...may is the keyword >_>
Ankle still sucks, though I'm starting to have less of a use for the stilt now, which is a good sign.
I'm also going to be trying to get more green's into my diet; one salad everyday at the least. I need to kick this dependency on fast-food. Soda...that may take a while, hehe...heh *sighs*
I'm also halfway through the third Dark Tower book series "The Wastelands" now that I'm anticipating the coming of the movies and show.
Finally, I like to leave you all with a Random note of discussion (two really):
- Who do you think should play Roland, the Gunslinger, in the Dark Tower MOVIE (not show)
- Kingdom Hearts...what Disney movies could be ideal as a World to visit in the next installment (ones that haven't been used yet).
My answer for question 1: Thomas Jane (Punisher, The Mist).
My answer(s) for question 2: The Sword and the Stone, Robin Hood, Atlantis (not Little Mermaid Atlantica...although admittedly I never saw that one).
For those who did, thanks for taking the time to read this lengthy blog. I needed to get that stuff out. Take care and welcome Autumn...and your screwed up heatwave :p
