the meet and walmart, bleh
I drove the 45 minutes, a half hour late, to the meet and ended up chickening out, sitting in my car for an hour in the parking lot like a looser as I watched the snow melt and contemplated nothing.
I think my headache only got worse, I was so annoyed. I was really looking forward to tromping around in my suit. My head was throbbing and I knew that even if a late arrival came to "rescue me" from my frozen state, I had to leave. I was just not in a friendly mood, feeling ridiculous and embarrassed.
I drove the 45 minutes back, eyeballing my phone for reception hoping that I could call my brother, but I rolled my eyes thinking how I was already halfway home and there was no point.
I went to walmart to do grocery shopping, made the brash decision to not remove my tail or sleeves. I strolled in there, trying to look normal, I was just fed up and didnt care. A mom made a comment how her daughter loved the tail and found it so interesting. Another person stopped me at the checkout and asked what the tail was for. She thought I was a mascot for a team.
I got laughed at on my way out by a few people, I didnt even turn to stare them down. I knew loading my stuff into the trunk would make it worse, kids stopped to oogle. The whole time I thought how glad I was that I didnt wear the whole thing, but at the same time, I liked wearing the tail, just not having muggles around to ask derpy questions.
I'm laying down now, skypeing with my mate for a few minutes before he heads off to bed. My head still throbs a tad, I think its because I stayed up till 4 working on my ref x..x

PS - I agree, it does feel really nice to wear parts of your suit. Hopefully you can get people in a particular area "used" to seeing it, or you can find an area that is tolerant enough not to cause issues. However, there will Always be the idiots that point and laugh. You gotta just remind yourself how stupid and assholish they look for pointing and gawking at you. Another fun one is to act out pointing at them and laughing back, shaking your head. ^^ But seriously, message me or note me. I can give you my phone # even.
I showed up and I didnt know where the fuck things were :<
