because all other members use their journals strictly for art related content... i realise you are probably kidding, but it actually would be rather nice if there was some way of dividing chatty journals and art related journals. i don't mind people talking about other things, but it does get a little overwhelming and hard to find ones that are art related. and dividing art from 'streaming now' submissions and such. i don't know why i am still talking to you about this. as though you will go and implement the changes for me.
Well, of course there are uses for journals other than anything art-related, but something so short like this seems excessively useless. Just like Twitter as a whole. :-P
well atleast it doesn't take long to realise how useless it is - it's a time saver. twitter is an absurd website and i fail to understand it's popularity. although i could see it being useful for certain businesses and such.
I think it's popularity is stemmed from our society's misplaced importance on fame and the merits of the individual. Too many of us anymore are looking to be recognized as being as special and important as we were made to feel growing up.
Part of the process of growing up is realising that you can discard the shackles that are other-people's-viewpoints.
It is a great day when one realises that they are solely responsible for their future. Sometimes it takes an important event in someone's life to effectively shift their paradigm from one of "Ooh look at me ahma brushin ma teef! Praise me pleese!" to "I can stand up for myself. If I don't like the position I'm in, I'm the one with the most capacity to change that."
However I guess that the reason we see so many attention whores in today's society (I'm not talking about you Foxer) is that we hugbox children too much. I mean hugboxing is a good thing when you're growing up but there comes a point where it crosses the line and gives birth to an individual who resembles the stars of 'My Super Sweet Sixteen'.
It took an event which left me with diagnosed Post Traumatic Stress Disorder before I realised the power I alone had over my life.
I love that feeling
