Well, I live in a small, piece of shit town in Ohio.
I've lived her all of my life, all 22 years of it. I kind of love the trashy, hillbilly-ness of it, but it sort of sucks for someone like me who has interests that are sort of stifled because of my town. I love cooking, but the only food available is from a supermarket, so I can't find anything that's slightly exotic. Plus, a lot of the movies I'd like to see never come to our theater, so unless I want to see a summer blockbuster, I have to wait for the DVD.
Plus, we don't have anything cultural besides the performances that come to my college nearby. And while those can be nice (I went to see Sweeney Todd with my brother and I loved it), there's not enough to really satisfy me. Like, I'd love to see Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? or Angels in America, but they would never come here.
The shopping also sucks. We have lots of antique stores, pawn shops, and a Wal-Mart in a neighboring town and that's about it. It's kind of annoying for someone like me who loves to shop.
So, to sum it up, if anyone is wanted to swoop in and turn me into a pampered housewife in a more urban city, please let me know.
