Photoshop Problems

I'm having some trouble with either Photoshop or my tablet.
Usually, when I use my tablet, Photoshop treats it like a pen, with sketchy lines and it recognizes pressure. Well, for the past two days, except on one picture yesterday, it colored with the pen like a mouse. I didn't know what the deal was, and still don't. Photoshop still recognizes it as a tablet pen, but it colors like a mouse with no pressure or anything.
I checked my tablet properties and it recognized pressure and everything, it just seems Photoshop is ignoring it. I really hate this problem and any help is much appreciated. There is a piece I've just finished and I want to get inked or shaded in PS, but I won't finish until I get correct pen control.
Thank you for any help given.

I'm running Photoshop CS on a Mac under OS X 10.4.x with 512 Mb ram and can work with .PSD files up to about 225 Mb without problems.
