Boston Area Furry Luncheons
FREE O-KEMONO SKETCH WITH EVERY DOGGIE BAG YOU BUY!!!!!!
When:
Every second Sunday of each month, at 1:00PM.
The next luncheon will be held on Sunday, July 10. For those of you who need a month’s notice, the following luncheon will be held on Sunday, Augus 14 (both 2011).
Where:
The 99 in Chalestown: 29-31 Austin Street; Charlestown, MA; 02129-3502; Phone: (617) 242-8999 . It’s a short walk from the Community College T stop, on the Orange Line, and there is plenty of free parking. The prices for meals are reasonable. Finally, there’s free popcorn for those of you who can’t afford a full meal and vegetarian options for us herbivores. ^.^
For more details, you can go to: http://www.99restaurants.com/ .
(Sorry to say it, but we’ve got to have) Rules:
We don’t need to make a reservation, but I request that you send me an RSVP, so we can get ourselves and the restaurant an idea of how many are coming.
Please send your RSVP’s for this moths luncheon to this post.
No one under the age of 16 will be admitted. No one of ages 16 or 17 will be admitted without permission from their parents. The PDF’s for the permission slips are posted here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/5929875/ please follow the instructions provided. I know this may sound silly, but I’m just trying to prevent the possibility of any sort of trouble.
I know there are those of you who are dying to wear your fursuits or your partials. I’m afraid that’s not the purpose of this event. The purpose of this event is to create an opportunity for us to get to know each other. The presence of something like a fursuit may make someone, who is new to the group, uncomfortable. I’m on the fence when it comes to collars. I own a collar myself, but let’s not show them off until after we’ve had a couple of meets, okay? The same shall go for con badges. Furry artwork and illustrated clothing will be allowed. After all, it will help someone new find our group! ^.^
Addendum: We recently had someone show up in ears and tail. Until I get any complaints, the wearing of ears and tails will be allowed.
Note: It is not essential, but I’m encouraging each and every one of us to tip. This will ensure that we maintain a good relationship with the staff. The minimum wage for “tipped services” is about half that of other forms of employment. Therefore, most waitstaff rely heavily on tips, as their source of income. An average tip would be between 15% and 20% of the total cost of your meal. If you need any help calculating this amount, please let us know. Also, I can teach short-cuts for doing this in one’s head. ^.^
Fursuiting “After Party”
I’m always open to extending the day by adding some other group activity. ^.^
Last month, we took a ten minute walk to a park on the Charles River, between the Museum of Science and the Cambridgeside Galleria. Everyone had a great time and we took lots of photos. The two setbacks to this activity at this location is that there is no real private space to change and, being outdoors, it’ll be no good if the weather is bad. Fortunately, this time, both suiters were wearing partials and the weather was favorable. ^.^

I'll miss having you there. Hope you still have a good day away from us and Hope to see you in August! *hugs* ^.^
Hopefully I'll be able to make it to the next one. ^.^
I'll miss having you there. Hope you still have a great time at ConectiCon and Hope to see you in August! *hugs* ^.^
But, would it be okay to bring my badge? D:
Can't give you a definite answer 100% yet, but I'm going to try to make it.
I mean we shouldn't miss it, but you never know.
Hope that helps,
^.^
Also, at the last minute my twin brother decided he'd like to come along with me and my boyfriend. I hope that's all right. He isn't in to the fandom as much himself (he is a little), but it'll be good for him to get out of the house. I know everyone will love him, he's such a funny guy. <3
Can't wait to meet all of you, I'm so excited. I've never been to a meet before. :v! Hard to get most places without a car, but it's nice to have one in Boston because I can actually take public transportation there. B:
I'll ask in advance, do you think it will be all right to wear the collar I'm getting? Nothing crazy, just going to be a purple and silver collar.
Just found out about this last night around midnight xD
Will try to make it next month, though! :)
