I'm honestly curious, because I've never heard anyone say that. XD You usually hear people say that about places like Fort Kent, or other more northern towns.
Ah'm Nahmie Ay-brahm, an' t'day ahn, This Old Hawse, we'll be makin' a three drah dressah. Gottah git yah three quahtah inch drill bit fah this prah-ject. This prahject was made faymous in Bah Hahbah. (Bar Harbour)
Also, I'm from Bar Harbor originally (I'm in Orono for university), it's a pretty fun town in the summer, if a bit of a tourist trap. Let me know if you want any suggestions about places to go. :3
Well, for the most part, it's hard to pick out specific great spots in the park, since there's so much stuff. XD
If you're looking for swimming, Sand beach is pretty good, as is Echo lake, but I prefer the former, even if the water's a bit on the cold side. Mountain wise, Cadillac is great, obviously, but I'm sure you were already planning on that.
Thunder Hole is neat, especially on a windy day, and Seawall over on the quietside is really pretty, and can be a good picnic area.
If you like flowers, Thuya Garden is *beautiful,* and Southwest Harbor has a neat Butterfly garden, whose name escapes me. (Not sure about when it's open though, I haven't been there in YEARS.) Of course, the Carriage roads are great too, but you may have to fight crowds.
As for Bar Harbor itself, it really is mostly just a tourist trap, but there are a few things to check out. As cliche as it is, the Whale watches can be a lot of fun, as can the Abbe museum if you're interested in Native American history. There's also some pretty good places to eat, including Rosalie's (Easily my favorite pizza place), Galens (For more "High class" dining), and Mt. Desert Island Ice Cream (For ice cream, obviously. A lot of people prefer CJ's near the Village Green, but personally, I prefer MDI). I think Pure Fries shut down a few years ago, otherwise I'd add it to the list too.
Reel Pizza can be a fun evening, right near the village green, (Basically, a movie theater that serves pizza and has couches to sit on) and the green in general tends to host a lot of music shows.
Also, the Cranberry islands can be a fun day-trip, if a little pricy for the boat ticket.
I was up there last year, and wow was the dock crowded with people watching the sunset. Very nice scenery, though. I might go back when, uh, my back is better.
i found 2 in Waco. So I assume they are in Maine. I mean damn Waco is... well it is like motherfucking WACO small southern, Christian and conservative, not exactly friendly to furs for the most part.
Me, my mate, Spaz Otter and Sparky Shepard are here in Westbrook.

Yes, Maine. English, prepare to be broken.
95% of Mainers, especially ones in a tourist trap like Bar Harbor, are pretty understandable, though the accent is hilarious.
