Stalemate only happens when both the kings are left owo

If he can't move his king and you cornered him that's Checkmate cause he can't make a move. owo

Apparently not, the computer made it a draw when i cornered the king with my queen, I was pissseeeddddd

How odd. He prolly could have taken your queen or something and chose not to? Computors are usually smarter than that.

Ohh, no, I was playing against my friend, online. Kings can only move 1 space in any direction, and he clearly could not have, besides, killing the king wins the game, and my king was safe D:

I know. But if he could kill the queen you both would only have Kings resulting in a stalemate as neither of you could move close enough to kill the king.

But he couldn't kill the queen, that's why I'm complaining, It was his move, and if he moved in any of the three available spots, he would have been killed by my queen, but apparently in chess, that's a stalemate, because I didn't check the king and move it into a check mate, the rules are silly

You see the problem with that is, that you have to be in check. The king can't move into check, it's against the rules, but he has to be actually in check for it to be checkmate. He made his turn, and then in my turn there wasn't any move i could make under the rules, therefore I was unable to continue, yet I had not actually been put into checkmate, hence, stalemate. I'm really surprised everybody who knows how to play chess doesn't know this rule, it's really a fundamental @.@

I figured but the way I've played even on my comp. If the King can't do anything. Including moving away from a queen. What you described has been a main reason I've always lost through Check Mate even the one time a friend talked me into going to a chess tournament.
