'Bring back the old style!' 'I liked the old one better!' etc etc
I'm going to say this once, and only once. Stop...Grow Up.
Things happen, changed had to be made. Yes there are some errors and mistakes with the new line artist but y'know? He's learning with this as he goes. There will be no more bitching and moaning about the quality of the new art unless you give some constructive criticism paired with it.
Comments in a negative manner such as above will no longer be tolerated and will be hidden if made.
If you start drama and it escalates you will be given a warning.
If it gets further out of hand you will be blocked.
It's really getting annoying and it's incredibly disrespectful. We're not getting paid to do this and doing it with a lot of stress, drama and such are not appreciated in the slightest.

Look at the bottom left corner, that face. I understand artists have many different styles, but that doesn't look correct on any front to me. Instead of putting on this super-defensive "I will hide your comment, ignore and block you if you disagree" you -should- listen to the constructive criticism. For example, in that link that I just showed, how does that face match the head at all? It's way too elongated and just doesn't fit.
I understand you're doing this for free, but if a lot of people are complaining, then wouldn't it make sense to try and fix the problem? You could say there is no problem, and just point out that is just the new style, over and over. But that's not going to make people happy in general, and I'm not going to tell you to swap back to the old style, as in my original comment on that panel I didn't realize at the time you have a new artist.
It's so funny reading all these other comments, for all the people that complained, no one is willing to put forth any sort of criticism in the notion that it would offend you, even if you're asking for the constructive criticism.
The facial expression/sizes/eyes are the only thing I really noticed significantly as different, like I said before, you don't have to swap back to the old style. But is it possible to tweak the muzzles? The females muzzle in the link I put, seems a little narrow/pointed. (That could just be her species)
If you guys can make the next page(s) of comic along with what a lot of people enjoyed before, I'll donate $15 to your comic. (This make take 5 days, because transfers from the bank account to paypal takes that long)

we know he has stuff to work out but he'll get there, he's actually done well with drawing the other characters thus far...you'll see when they come around (especially reptiles)
and that'd be near impossible as the old artist doesn't have the time to work on it, however I can tell you, the art for the new comics will most definitely be superb,
I have read my favorite manga from start to finish [Jing: King of Bandits] and I have also seen a "art change" in video games, [Megaman.EXE primary] Both I really did not like.
As of yet....I have-int paid attention to the art style in the comic ^^;;; but I wont complain about it since I understand what goes on with this kind of project. I hope that it can continue well for you all and will have a good re-read on it when I have the chance.
Besides the fact, I feel like its still rather early anyway for all this 'This artstyle sucks' bullshit anyway. The only character we've seen who was in Chapter 1 so far has been Rusty. For all some complainers know, they could very well like the new styles of the other characters like Tchall or Tod, etc.
And also, the new female character just introduced was never in Chapter 1 , so I don't mind the artstyle for her period cause I don't have previous artwork to compare :P
Constructive critisism is fine if respectful, cause it can help the artist grow and improve. But I agree that the constant bashing against this new artist is just disprespectful to the artist in general.
Especially considering this is a free comic. If you HATE the artwork that much, then just go find something else to read. No one is FORCING you to read the comic. :P

there are others that he has drawn as well, Ria looks a bit different as well but he's not as familiar with females (plus his specialty is scalies, which we have a few in this comic as well )
but it gives an idea that he'll just be improving with Rusty as he goes forth
The panel placement for the pages is also a little weird; there's no real rhyme or reason to where the panels start or stop; sometimes they form a border around the page, sometimes the cut into that border and bleed into the page edge, and sometimes - like in the case of the aforementioned page - some panels are sized so that they leave distracting blocks of empty space. It doesn't look that professional, especially when compared to the more puzzle-block configuration of the panels of the old style.
I hope that's constructive enough for you. It's not a bad style, by any means, but you can tell it's not a style that you or whoever else is making the comic is used to, and is not as polished or clean as the old style, which leads to a disconnect between the two that turns some people off.

I agree, it is disrespectful to dis an artist's work. If you don't like it...then don't patronize the artist. Both artists featured here are worthy of respect and - both have their own, unique style and both are wonderfully talented.
Truthfully, it seems like most people these days, especially on certain sites, like say, image boards, are very critical about the art style (and other stuff in the media I'm sure), like in their eyes, they want things to be perfect, like a person has to have the right amount of muscles, the anatomy has to be spot-on, etc. otherwise it's usually considered bad that the "artist should quit drawing" or stuff like that. Nothing's perfect, and really, the line artist is pretty good. The artist is definitely improving. I believe you said this is the first time or one of the few times the artists has tackled stuff like new species right? Do people really expect an artist to perfect something in a short amount of time, especially when they have to get a certain page done in a short amount of time each week (no offense or anything)?
Still, kind of sad to see people just give out so much hatred over art styles, even if the artist is definitely trying, but I guess that's people for you these days, right? Heck, more sad people keep asking about the previous artist and such despite what you said. Oh well. Keep up the good work guys. Hope we'll see more stuff happen soon within it.
