Cloverfield...O_o.......*MAJOR SPOILERS*

ok, i saw the cloverfield today, i wanted to see it because it was so hyped up in the trailers and i like monster movies, so i decided to check this one out.
so cloverfield was......weird and....differant. it was diffinalty the most unsusal monster movie i ever seen. the begining was kind of weird, starts out of large thumping noises as if somthing really big is heading towards you, gave a kind or creepy effect. then video color bars show, i was like "aww crao, don't tell the protector broke again." then the title appeared and realized it was part of the movie. the movie is basicly like the trailer shows, it starts out with a group of teens having a party from this person whose going away to japan(hint to japanese monster influence maybeXD) then a earthquake happens (which when the monster arrives) everyone runs outside and sees a massive expolesion and starts running away from it. you don't actually see the monster in first few several minutes of it, only parts of it. but you get to see monster full towards the end of the movie. the monster looked really unusal, like a cross between a intesct, an animplian and some kind of reptile(like godzilla).
this movie was really intense! either kept me on the edge of sit or made me jump! parts actually scared me, which is rare for a movie to that to me. like one part the group were travling though the subway and it was pitch black.... the thing that made this so unusal was the way it was filmed. it was alot like The Blair Witch Project, (if any of you have seen that movie) it was filmed from an average person's point of view, as if average person took a camera recorder and was recording the events as they were happening, which suited the movie well in my opinon, if was done anyother way i don't think it done so well. it was like if you were part of teenage group and as if this was happening to you. which was kind of funny because despite all the teens went though, the camera surivives, it's like the anti-destroy camera. plus the camera guy kept shaking the camera or have it tilted or out of focse and was starting to give me a headache, half through the movie i felt like yelling "hold the freaking camera still and foces right!" or the part where the monster was coming and the teens were standing in the street, i wanted to shout "run! you idiots! run!"
anyway, as for the monster, dosen't really go to much depth into the monster, didn't show where the monster came from or how it got to new york, what kind of monster it really was or how they killed it in the end, but i got a pretty good idea of how, one part where the teens make to military outpost and you hear on the military guys saying their going to wide out all of city of new york and at the end you see a abpute expolosion and it burries the surviving teens and the camera dies. so gives a pretty good idea they used a nuclear missle(though there is no way to be sure) to wipe out the monster because nothing else was effecting it.
so this movie was intense and bit scary, but diffintly i very differant movie to see. so if you like monster movies, this one is a good recomdation, far waring though, make sure you are not easy to go into motion sickness because of the wat the camera moves.

It wouldn't have been nuclear. That would have wiped out the video from the EMP. Probably would have melted the camera too.

OP
yeah, just saying it was a guess, you don't really know what killed the monster or even if they killed the monster at all. but yeah, most likey just a near by explosion that made the brighe burst apart and burry the two teens.
