You're insane! HP computers are absolute garbage, and I know this from experience. They're very cheaply built. For the same price (or maybe a little more), you can get a much better machine.
Oho, useful. Trying to piece together a mobile desktop, but of course it's my first foray into building an entire computer from scratch. I can figure out the physical compatibility, but then there's occasionally the problem of getting the parts to play nice with each other.
Nyhm is looking for a laptop specifically. Building a desktop from scratch gets you the most power for the cost, but not many desktops will easily fit into a backpack or laptop case if you need to take it with you throughout the day.
Yeah, sadly there's not a laptop builder site like this, or a service that even LETS you do such a thing.
Also, cooling pad. Those are a must for a laptop unless you want scars on your lap through jeans like what happened with me when I had to furiously work my ass off and couldn't afford the time moving things elsewhere. n.n
Not bad for a mid-range laptop; the price is fair, but I had several bad experiences with Acer.
I always recommend Dell or Lenovo Thinkpads when it comes to laptop, but I heard ASUS wasn't bad either.
