My most favorite genres to write in are usually in the categories of Science Fiction, Fantasy, Steam Punk, and action.

Anyways, it's a little silly, but here's something.

Everyone always writes stories about these big damn heroes. About people who go out and fight for their dreams. I think it would be interesting if, say, there's a band of sky pirates, and instead of writing of the would-be captain, or the underdog, write about a crew-mate. Show what the conflict, the battles, and just daily life is like from the perspective off the little guy.

Kinda silly, but yeah, it's something. x3

Back in the beginning of time, pandas would ride woolly mammoths into battle, joined by their allies the Wolves. Soon the ruled the entire world and invented pudding. Then they got lazy. But if you wrote about this it'd be a history book and not fiction, dunno if that helps :(

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that, Asalis! I'll try and think something up tomorrow during work. I've been in a bit of a slump as well, and it really is difficult to pick up a pen and write something I'm comfortable with nowadays. Not for lack of trying but...ow. I hope it gets better for you soon! ^^

Here's my idea:

Fantasy/Mideval setting, in a world that is dominated by three major races: Human, Shear (forest/plains folk with an affinity for magic), and Rannim (short, brilliant, stocky people who value knowledge, medicine, and history but distrust magic).

A noble warrior is cursed/blessed (you decide) with the gift of immortality... sort of. He can be killed, but each time he is killed, his body disappears and he is rejuvenated anew in a secret location in the northern mountains.

This warrior holds a terrible secret: he carries the burden of a heinous crime he committed hundreds of years ago. He was given this 'gift' of immortality in order to make amends for his transgression. His task is to wander the world, seeking those who would be great heroes (either by word, action, or sword), and become their mentor, training them and raising them to the potential that lies within them.

The gods have promised him that with each hero/heroine that he finds and trains, he would be protected from death until his work with them was complete. Then, the protection would be lifted, and he would be vulnerable to death and rebirth, beginning the cycle once again. He was given strict warning not to boast of his gift nor use it for his own selfishness, so he generally does not tell anyone of his immortality.

He is bound to walk this path until he can bring about enough good in the world to atone for his crime.

That is quite a detailed idea. could definitely use that. I've actually been thinking about a character whom was immortal but only in life span. but I couldn't think on how to use them. This works perfectly with that character. He could still get injured and even die but he could never die by natural causes. I like your idea of it being a supernatural cause for his immortality.
