(Part 2) I have a favor to ask of you duddes/dudettes......

So after reading the comments, and searching the web, I have a few ideas as to what tablet I want, but need a bit of help finding a I-pad alternative.
Again I want one for entertainment purposes only, mostly for web browsing, music, and watching videos, I need something on the go. :3
I narrowed down most of the stuff I need for the tablet,I need your help in finding and choosing a tablet, I will make the choice based on:
1. Price, somewhere around 200$
2. Internet connection
3. It can be no lower then 7 inches
4. sound quality. (it doesn't have to be super awesome, it just cant suck)
5. Its has to be easy to use, and easy to organize.
6. Expandable memory through SD or USB drive (what ever I can use to expand the current memory.
7. Flash support
8. And above, all long battery life, specially when watching videos, (that will be a huge factor for purchasing a tablet)
Bonus: a good amount of apps would be good, specially useful ones! =3
If any one can help me out with my search, I would be most appreciative, thank you for your time dudes and dudettes =3

With school, trip plans, in need of a motorcycle license, I'm and will be getting out of the house more!. =D
They're floundering in mobile sales and want to compete with iOS and Android so they forced Metro UI on EVERYONE. Using a desktop? Too bad, learn to use a mobile interface with your mouse/keyboard. Using a laptop? Have fun trying to navigate the touch-based interface with your keyboard and touchpad.
The only place where Windows 8 actually works is a tablet and Microsoft has screwed themselves over with Windows RT (Windows 8 on ARM processors). You will not be able to run ANY desktop apps except for IE and Office. You will not be able to get a Metro version of Firefox, Chrome, Safari, or even Opera because Microsoft refuses to give the code to create browsers in Metro.
Also, it'll be VERY slow. The fastest ARM chips around are about the speed of a mid-range first generation Core 2 Duo, but with the power consumption of a modern x86 processor. So add the overhead of emulation needed and you'd have much slower performance for the same power usage as a laptop i5 or i7.
This all leaves them with only one version of Windows 8 on tablets (which is called "Windows 8").
Windows 8 on tablets will run your desktop apps...but have fun trying to interact with them. Ever tried to use Firefox or Chrome on a touch-based monitor? I have. It sucks. You also still have the problem of switching from a legacy desktop mode and Metro UI which has been handled poorly and is quite jarring. So far, reviews of Windows 8 are meh to "what the fuck?" simply because of that jarring aspect on desktops and laptops. Not to mention, we need to wait and see if companies will put up with all the flip back and forth between UI nonsense and if they'll adopt Windows 8 like they did 7. Most likely not.
This is all neither here nor there though because
First there will be 2 versions of Windows 8. A Desktop Version wich is built for x86 CPU's never would run smoth on a ARM CPU.
Just because both are called Windows 8 doesent mean its the same OS. Like iOS and MacOS both unix based but fully diffrent in need of rescoures.
You will be able to run Metro Apps on your PC/Laptop and on your Mobile Device. But you wont be able to Run Regular Desktop Applications on your Mobile Device. If not the first thing i would install on a windows 8 tablet was AutoCAD and work with that at work...........
What Windows 8 will do on PC's will be the developers of Applications will make theyr Programms being controllable by Touch input. Im sure there will come way more Computers with all in one and touch or simply monitors will have a touch sensitive display. Laptops will get touch displays aswell. but still it wont be the same as on a tablet.
And lol i wasnt the one who said wait on the next big thing otherwise i wouldnt have bought an i5 2500k and a geforce 560ti in january lol.
All i said was App is just a fucking fancy word for Application lol calm down
You also pretty much just repeated back to me what I just said so.....okay.
Anyway, this doesn't really matter. :|
I don't like Windows 8 very much, but I do wonder have you used it and what is your honest opinion on it?
but i definitly will buy an windows 8 tablet. maybe a phone too.
Honestly, for me, it's not as bad as in the Developer Preview or even the Consumer Preview...but it's still sort of jarring to switch between Metro and legacy desktop. I may go with a tablet if they allow Mozilla and Google to make Metro browsers...but if not, there's no point and I'll just go with Android...or maybe even a Chromebook or something if I want to be REALLY new and "edgy".
It's faster compared to 7, it even starts faster...however it doesn't seem to actually shut down if you leave the FastBoot on. My laptop docking fan kept going long after I hit "Shut Down". I had to turn that feature off. Still a fast boot though.
Speaking of the 1.5TB, I need to clean it out...again. =\ It's almost full.
The problem is, ALL of the $200 and below Android tablets pretty much suck...except for one (and yes, ONLY one).
First off, here are some specs on the top tablets:
APPLE:
The New iPad (iPad 3rd Generation)
iOS 5.1
9.7" 2048x1536 IPS "Retina Display"
1 GHz Apple A5X CPU
1 GB RAM
16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB storage options
Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity options
GPS option
5 MP rear/0.3 MP front cameras
iPad 2
iOS 5.1
9.7" 1024x768 IPS display
1 GHz Apple A5 CPU
512 MB RAM
16 GB only
0.7 MP rear/0.3 MP front cameras
The 2,4 model (32nm die-shrink) has best in class battery life
ASUS
Transformer TF300
Android 4.0 "Ice Cream Sandwich"
10.1" 1280x800 IPS display
Tegra 3 quad core 1.3GHz CPU
1 GB RAM
16 GB ($379) and 32 GB ($399) storage options
Plastic body
GPS
8 MP rear/1.2 MP front cameras
Optional keyboard dock with integrated battery
Transformer Prime
Android 4.0 "Ice Cream Sandwich"
Super IPS+ 10.1" 1280x800 display
Tegra 3 quad core 1.4GHz CPU
1 GB RAM
32 GB and 64 GB storage options
Aluminum body
No GPS (requires a dongle)
8MP rear/1.2MP front cameras
Optional keyboard dock with integrated battery
The Prime has a few known issues. First off, the GPS is crappy. Like REALLY crappy. ASUS was forced to introduce a GPS dongle bar to make it work correctly. There have also been reports of bad Wi-Fi, broken charger adapters (as it in will just fall apart), bleeding of the backlight, and pitting on the metal backing. This is all because they rushed the Prime to market just to be the first Tegra 3 tablet. This caused lots of quality control issues.
Transformer
10.1" 1280x800 IPS
Android 4.0 "Ice Cream Sandwich"
NVIDIA Tegra 2 CPU
1GB RAM
16GB and 32GB storage options
1.2MP front/5.0MP rear Cameras
Optional keyboard dock with integrated battery
The Transformer isn't the BEST with Ice Cream Sandwich, but it's better than nothing. The Tegra 2 processor, however, will insure that a good bit of your movie files simply will NOT play. I would definitely avoid ANY Tegra 2 device if possible for this reason as it's not easily fixed with a software player such as MX Player, it's a hardware issue.
AMAZON
Kindle Fire
7" 1024x600 display
Android 2.3 "Gingerbread"
1 GHz dual-core TI CPU
512 MB RAM
8 GB storage
The Kindle Fire is Android only in spirit. You are not able to use ANY Google apps such as Maps, Gmail, YouTube, or the Google Play Store (previously the Android Market). Amazon has stripped away as much as they possibly could just to make it unique. This is because Android is open source and you're simply allowed to do that. There's nothing wrong with the Fire, just that you need to be aware of this.
A few warnings and notices:
Do NOT go with some crappy tablet from Coby or whatever. They're the absolute worst to go with. Do not get a tablet if it advertises Froyo aka Android 2.2, Gingerbread aka Android 2.3, or Honeycomb or Android 3.x. These are old operating systems and the Froyo and Gingerbread OSes aren't even meant for tablets in the first place. Honeycomb is a beta OS at best and has been replaced with Ice Cream Sandwich aka Android 4.x. $200 Android tablets are usually really bad cheap ones that WILL have something broken out of the box.
Samsung tablets are fine as well, I suppose. But Samsung is known for slow updates (if you receive any at all) and updates that WILL break something. If you go with a Samsung tablet, you will also have to contend with their TouchWiz UI and kernel changes. These changes tend to break things that work just fine otherwise.
There are a new crop of tablets slowly appearing with Tegra 3 or OMAP processors. The current rumor is that Google will announce a "Nexus tablet" of some sort at Google I/O 2012 on June 29th with availability being around mid-Summer or early Fall. This tablet will be made by ASUS and be about $200 to $250. It will be a 7" tablet and will hope to rival the Kindle Fire, which is currently the best tablet you can get for $200-$250. You can save your money and wait to see if this pans out.
Also, there's news (not an actual rumor) that Google will use the Google Play Store (http://play.google.com) to sell tablets and phones running Android 5.0 aka Jelly Bean. They will allow 5 manufacturers to create their own bare bones (no OEM UI or kernel screw ups like TouchWiz) device to sell on the site alongside the Galaxy Nexus. Since Google now owns Motorola, you can bet there will be a Jelly Bean Motorola tablet up there.
The Nexus tablet should launch sometime this summer / fall. If you want a GOOD sub $200 tablet, go for that. Otherwise, get a Kindle Fire.
but reports do say that 4.1 will be jellybean. let's see until they release it, shall we?
Android is awesome but you need to invest a bit money into a good tablet and have to look it has minimum Honeycomb or ICS on it.
Also, you want a minimum of ICS on your Android tablets at best, NOT Honeycomb. Honeycomb is a crappy beta OS and everyone knows it. Even Google. Google didn't even release the source code of it because they knew it was unfinished.
To Honeycomb it works really fine to me. Of course i want ICS but i guess i have to wait until Samsung shows it. And well i still prefer the "Crappy" Honeycomb than iOS.
A. Ran out of tablets to match demand for preorder.
Or
B. Falsely ran out just to make it seem harder to get.
No one truly knows what it is, but it's probably a mix of both.
Honeycomb is fine if it works for you, but you have a Samsung device so you'll be waiting a while for ICS, unfortunately. Samsung does not have the best track record (unless you have a Nexus device then it doesn't matter).
For your 10.1, you were supposed to get ICS "soon" back in March. For the 7.7, you'll get it Q2 2012. Q2 2012 began April 1, 2012 and will end on June 30, 2012...they have one month to push it out.
Also,
And you know. if i didnt like honeycomb i still could load a curstom rom on it but so far it still got enough preformance to do all what i want without any crashes or errors.
and yeah i readed those news articles back in march aswell im maybe from switzerland but im not living behind the moon.
ASUS really screwed up the launch for the Prime but the TF300 is decent enough...hopefully the Nexus tablet is as well.
the interesting thing is it happend to my iPhone3G aswell and i think it will happen to future models aswell but slower since multitasking and dualcore technology are far superior.
I also noticed that you don't need a camera on a tab so i suggest a kindle fire. :3
