DAFF policy change, effective immediately.

Selection Process Issue - New procedure has been implemented to deal with commissioned or collaborative artwork from this day forward - I recently got a private message from someone who basically asked whether I should get permission from commissioner/s and artist/s of any artwork before I post critiques on it. At this time I am not aware of any constraints or penalties in North American Copyright law that would restrict the linking to and critique of an image. So far I have found no evidence of violations of the AUP where commentary on other people's artwork is in violation of FA's rules. The critique offered from this administrator in the selection process is not abusive or negative, it is positive and meant to raise awareness towards good works and the artists/ creators behind them. If I were downloading or reposting the artwork without permission then there would be a valid case against my position but no artwork that isn't mine has been downloaded, posted or retransmitted, only linked to in it's original location with positive critique.
Policy change Amendment 2013/1/8 A - If any commissioner/s and or artist/s does not want DAFF to select their image then they must state on the upload that they do not want a review of that image from D.A.F.F., if this is done then I will ignore that image and move on to another.
Policy change Amendment 2013/1/8/ B - From this day of January 8th 2013 all commissioned artwork or collaborations will only be selected by this group only and after permissions have been obtained from both commissioner and artist. The same will be done for any artwork collaboration where more than one artist has been involved in it's creation.
Single artist images, no change to policy at this time - Unless instructed by legal counsel or the site admins for violating the AUP or North American Copyright Law with a full and proper description in their instructions from a verified administrator. The selection process for artwork done and posted by the same artist, ( these would be non collaborative or uncommissioned works) will remain as before unless a policy change is so ordered.
Hopefully these changes will minimize any problems and allow us to continue enjoying the new artwork that the group focuses on.
