Why this image was chosen - Jeri's artwork has impressed me since the first time I saw it and this image is one of the reasons why I like their style. Jeri's images can best be described as an attractive and unique minimalist sketchbook technique with color that gives the impression of concept drawings that started and finished right. I have seen Jeri's art on other sites in the past and there was more than what you see in the FA gallery here. In this picture I like the way the lion's heavy set build has been done, the thick arms hint at muscle at a more muscular build when this lion was younger. His thick legs make me want to have him stand up and turn around so I can get a good look at his butt, its probably impressive! The head and upper body is convincingly placed leaning forward as he tries to and successfully engulfs the cat guy who struggles to stay out of his ample belly. The small, cute neck bulge on the front of lion's neck looks almost as chubby as he does while he eats his seemingly unwilling prey. I love the way the cat guy's expression of panic has been depicted as one of his hands is extended outward, its adorable and funny because it makes me think " Oh noes I'm being eaten! I'll get out by grabbing a whole bunch of air! *flails* " The picture is striking, the characters are well done and that lion can come over and sit on me anytime he wants to!
