But how's it so far? Better than Oblivion? Worse? I only ask becasue of the company making it and the similarities between the two games in level design at least.

I played it, it's very good. Big game as well, I heard about fallout someone told me it's like Oblivion bit different.

Its a lot better.

It's funny, people who loved the first two Fallout games were scared that it would be like Oblivion, yet people who played Oblivion keep wanting to know if it's like Oblivion. :P

I've not played Oblivion, but it's a fairly good interface and seems to be holding true to the previous games in that not everything has to be done by combat. You can sneak around many things, use conversation paths to talk people out of a fight, etc. But like any Mad Max movie, there are times one needs to bust out the weapons and blow up shit.

No kidding. I wish there was an option to carve "PEOPLE SKILLS" in the side of my hunting rifle :P

I found him back in his shack near the entrance. He visits the two bars and sometimes watches the dood by the bomb though.

I can't find the guy that owns the saloon, I need to talk to him about my father, anyone know where he is?

He should be outside of the saloon or inside it. Only two spots I've seen him.

He's either in the Treatmant plant, hanging outside the plant, or in the saloon. That's where I've found him.

Walter wanders by time of day and sometimes takes smoke breaks or go for a walk. Just Wait (press T) and he'll show up at a different time.

he was in the treatment plant for me. Probably have to wait until daytime for him to be in there. Shops close at night and he said he isn't there at night either.

Super Duper Mart is a good place to go for loot and guns. The Backroom even has a mini nuke

I haven't bothered to fix the pipes but I know all of the characters cycle to different places throughout the day. Maybe it got dark and he went to sleep? Try hitting [back] and doing a wait for 8+ hours. That would be my best guess.

He's usually in the water processing plant, but occasionally he's walking around the upper levels of Megaton

he smokes outside the water treatment plant, chills at the saloon, and even goes out to laugh at the crazy atom people.

try to be at the water treatment plant in the morning. between 5-7 AM. Its usally the time he gets up there and goes outside.Thats the way i found him again.

oh yeah,to other players out there. if you don't happen to find dogmeat Yet,keep looking. not only is that dog highly cute (as far as it goes in that wasteland world) he is also quite usefull.
