Goodbye Sir Terry
Sir Terry Pratchett passed away today.
There are very few 'celebrity' deaths I've felt sad over. Robin Williams hurt recently, certainly. But this? I feel like I've just lost a part of myself.
Growing up, books were my haven. Where I escaped to. One day, one of my mothers friends, a lovely man called Micheal, gives me a book called "The Colour of Magic" and suggests I try it.
That was just the start of my journey into an amazing world, with an amazing cast of characters, but most importantly, some of the funniest, wittiest, finest writing I've ever had the good fortune to read. I grew up seeing Vimes turn from a downtrodden drunkard of a policeman to a marvellous commander and family man. Every misadventure of Rincewind, every meeting of the Witches. And of course, every wonderous appearance of Death.
While Death has finally come for his creator, Pratchett will never be forgotten. Sir Terry will never truely die.
"Never age. Never die. Live forever in that one last white-hot moment, when the crowd screamed. When every note was a heartbeat. Burn across the sky.
You will never grow old. They will never say you died."

My whole family are fans of his work, this will be such a blow...
But you're certainly right, a man like Pratchett lives on in his fans and in the billions of people who will enjoy his books in the future.
