Folks sure do love balloon gators

it's surprising, that one image I posted a few days ago is now the second most faved image I have, underneath only the poker game image, as always, I'm real greatful that people enjoy my work that much.
But it has reminded me of an older image I posted early on in my time here, the elastic scales image: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11985610/
this one also gained a huge spike in popularity. so there's definitely a market for balloon gators and crocs, yet why are they in such short supply? i mean doing a search for just "air inflation" specifically for both yields only 25 for alligators and 30 for crocodiles, other variables notwithstanding that's a pretty small amount.
A part of me wonders if lizards in general tend to just get eclipsed by dragons and dinosaurs, or only manifest as dragon hybrids. I can't recall the last time I've seen a monitor lizard or a frilled lizard fursona before, and I've only seen one gecko and salamander so far, every other non dinosaur/dragon reptile OC is usually an argonian or some vague and nondescript reptile.
What do you guys think? am I just missing something or do you agree to some extent? also, what species do you feel I ought to do more of?

Heh, I always do like it when you do avians, as they tend to be quite a rarity too, but honestly? There's nothing wrong when any more-uncommon species gets a bit of puffy affliction thrown on them.

I'm not to species specific, if you draw it and it's puffy, I'm gonna like it!

I do enjoy your balloon critters of all sorts. ^^ There definitely can be more balloon gators and such out there, plus other fun forms of lizard. :3 Monitors, Tegu's, Bearded Dragons, Geckos... All fun targets for turning into huge balloon scalies. :D

I guess it hits the mid-range of being not so unknown that nobody will think to type it in the search bar, but at the same time not so popular that everyone's seen it EVERYWHERE.
