Sticky controller
Anyone know how to fix a sticky Xbox One trigger? My right trigger has a tendency to stick when I push it. Its gotten worse as I have used it. Before I didn't really notice, but now its almost every 3rd press that it gets stuck.
I took off the panel on the back of the right handle, though I didn't see as much as I'd like. It feels like the trigger is rubbing on something deeper inside the controller. I saw somewhere that nail polish remover might do the trick, but I'm worried that wont fix it. Its rubbing quite a lot.
Anyone have any ideas? If not, anyone want to get me that elite controller for Christmas?....wink wink....
...wink....
Anyway, its my last week of school until break. I hope to do some art, especially finish up commissions (The YCH story with Vavira and the 3 Friends series I will finish). Then its back to school in January. I expect next semester to be extreeeeeeeeemely difficult. So I may vanish for a time.

It sure beats my hap-hazard approach of blindly squirting WD-40 up in there and see what happens. (Really...don't recommend doing that. Damage may happen...or maybe the stick will go away. Risky and not worth it.)
Looking at my current gen controllers right now. The Sony stuff has micro phillips to disassemble. M$...does not. Probably those bloody tabs. Consult a web site guide for instructions on how to tear down an XB1 controller. It's probably tab held and tricky to find the spots to pull apart at.
But I found the problem, it was the battery pack. When I removed the rechargeable battery pack that I use, the trigger no longer stuck. Kinda weird, but it worked.
Now, I'm tempted to ask...Mad Katz (or some other third party) make the thing? Sometimes, these unofficial devices just aren't up to quality control.
I still find it a little odd that only one controller was affected by it. And it used to not be so bad. Ive had the battery packs for about a year maybe(?) and didn't notice the problem when I got them.
*Shrugs*
Guess Ill just need to buy some rechargeable AA batteries and use those instead of a charge pack. I hate throwing away batteries, I used to burn through them.
They do die out eventually. They get to a point where they don't take a charge anymore. I have probably 5 or 6 dead xbox 360 packs. But the play and charge kits are a great idea. You can plug your wireless controller into the play and charge cord and turn the controller into a wired one. Very helpful when you cant find batteries.
I don't think Ill buy another charge pack, but I will try the rechargeable batteries. If you get a charge kit that is built for controllers, get one from Sony/Microsoft. Not a third party. They seem to do better in my opinion. (I had a Mad Katz one for a while on the 360. I think it lasted the shortest amount of time. Now I have this energizer pack and its problems.)
The PS consoles, however, I really use the heck out of. Their controllers have built in batteries and I've only noticed recently that the one (the newer one, ironically) has been needing recharging on a far more rapid basis. The recharge is so convenient. No going out to buy replacements when it is needed. And when I run the controllers for over 12 hours at a time...disposables would get old, fast.
I actually found what was causing the stickiness. I decided to use one of my other Xbox One controllers, so I removed the battery pack (A rechargeable one) from the controller. When I did that, the trigger was no longer sticky. I put AA batteries into it and the trigger is fine. Put the rechargeable one in and it sticks. I guess the battery pack was too big or something.
