Snowboarding tips?
9 years ago
Monday's gonna be a holiday here in BC (family day & Chinese New Year!)
and I'm going out snowboarding with friends (Eee/// it's gonna be my first time too)
Does anyone have any tips for beginners like myself? ;u;
I don't actually have any idea what to wear (I know there are rentals but still)
And maybe some advice on how to ride it properly? Idk xD
I'm really excited tho~ yay!

Good thing you're not skiiing.
Buuuut I've never been either, so I'm sure there will be some nice people on the hill to help you out. People are nice like that.
Yeah we'll go and ask xD (some of my friends are also beginners like myself so this will be fun lol)
i hope you've been skiing before because if you haven't
then you're gonna have a generally hard time
but hey who knows, maybe you're a natural talent at it
i don't really know how to give any tips when it's not in physical form
so you'll probably have to check out some youtube videos
Good luck!
thanks for the advice, I agree videos are really helpful (I've already watched a bunch)
But I still can't wait to really try it out! Eeeee////*excited* ;u;
the worst part of snowboarding/skiing is having the wrong size so everything
on your feet itches hours on end, be sure to get something that fits you by any means
necesarry, trust me.
and most of the goggles I've fitted in store was awkward,
I do hope they have good rentals *crosses fingers*
We're planning on going earlier just in case.
Learning to stop would probably be the best thing to learn cause you can go FAST. I'm not good at explaining so this is pretty much what I did.

If it's your first time, you probably are gonna fall quite a bit. I still fell a lot (mostly while stopping) for quite some time.
Make sure you wear a HELMET as lame as it is. I hit my head quite hard before, yes snow just like water can be hard like a solid, thank goodness I wore helmets. ;o; Goggles/glasses help as well.
I'll try to practice on that before I try big slopes
Thanks for your link! It's really helpful!
Best tip is to not be discouraged. You're going to fall a lot, but don't let it dampen your experience. You'll notice improvement fast if you try and the fun parts will kick in!
That and lessons are surprisingly good, at any skill level and at any age!
i don't get discouraged that easily so no worries in my part! xD
I'm super excited now~
