My boyfriend and I have been following the comic for a while, now, and he's a bit pissed off at Theo's boyfriend raping him for thinking of the Russian cat. Even though he apologized, will they be breaking up, soon?

I cant give away plot-spoiling elements, but as is common with spousal rape it doesnt get resolved right away. it usually takes repeated abuses or something extreme to push one over the edge

perhaps, though i have to give equal amounts of time to each character so every detail of their personalities wont be shown in the comics. its something i hope to express in my pinups or covers.

Yes, this chapter is coming to a close soon but there will be flashbacks in the next segment of the story

well i just combined every asshole ive ever met with every story of abuse that gets fetishized in the community and boom.

Cringe-worthy, but bravo. Jack is suitably bludgeonable, and I'm really pulling for Milo in the end.

I just want to say I love how complex you've made the characters so far. It's very easy to portray a relationship like the one featured in this comic as overly fetishized or too black and white, but you've managed to walk that fine line in realistically portraying an abusive relationship.
Also I like how you've used the sex to give us insight into the personalities of the characters, and not just as eye candy.

I've enjoyed this story so far, and I've been impressed by some of the elements you've worked in - the ocean liner spread, the page layouts, especially that clever furry movie poster backdrop! I love your characters & the settings as well as the explicit set (sex?) pieces.
I definitely cringed at the angry shower rape bit and the sudden shifts of tone & pacing between pages has caused me to go back & try to figure out what was going on, but overall I like the work as a whole & encourage you to keep it up!

I'm normally very triggered by rape scenes (being a survivor myself). But I want to say how..well, it seems like the wrong word, but beautiful you did it. Spouses don't always report, they don't always leave, they're so used to that abuse that it becomes a norm, and as painful as it is to watch, I want to thank you for making these scenes realistic, and bringing the issues at hand to the public eye.

im glad you approve. ive also dealt with sexual abuse and i felt that the way its been fetishized or dramatized in comics is very inaccurate and harms its image as a storytelling device. It can be powerful and important if you portray it realistically.

I can't say I have any criticisms just yet. I just read it today...maybe after analyzing it. but for now the story is well put together. probably the only thing that made me cringe was the scene where Jack got out of control. but at the same time it's an interesting scene to use, and in my opinion doesn't seem out of place for a comic like this. :3

I also love the time setting you placed for this story. I love old timey-ish comics like this and even blacksad...just the style and the clothing; it feels so wonderful. and I love the color palettes used in this. just adds to the appeal.

Great storyline! Reminds me of my favourite comic and story series 'Roommates' by Spelunker Sal, Dreamous and TreIII. A neat similarity I found is Milo is a kitty from the UK and in the Roommates series JoJo is a kitty from the UK. Who's your favourite cat in the comic?
