it's been suggested that a lot of the new watchers/favs are from previous users that couldn't get their old accounts back for some reason...or didn't want to go through the hassle

They're mostly accounts made to turn in a support ticket, and wait out account retrieval, as I understand it.

Maybe they want to go and watch their favourite artists while they wait?

There are a tremendous number of users who create accounts like movie tickets. They could not care less about their username and if anyone knows or cares about their account. They are just "here for the show". Their Watch List is their Package of TV channels, and their Favorites are ...exactly what it says on the tin. Everything they see that they like. EVERYTHING. It's a Reclusive, OCD thing.

I know this because I have been one of those people for over 10 years now. I think I created my first FA account back in 2004, and I am now on my 4th username, as I try to reinvent myself and become something more than just a Fave-Spammer. I closed my previous account when my Faves hit ONE THOUSAND PAGES (on the maximum per-page view ... though it shrunk by a few pages after the attack)

This will keep happening for a while. Just remember that, while the pink "nuke" buttons don't work, the white 'check/uncheck all" and blue 'remove checked'' functions still DO.

mass delete still not used but put all check all and remove, to me is working well.

I find it much coincidence to attack this page and advertising or mass movements to other pages ocurriaran later, it can be planned to remove Users FA, or maybe it's coincidence, but to be a free page FA is good

Heh, I had something I thought was stranger 'before' the mess. When someone 'watches' me, I'll often check their page - who knows - I might want to watch them back ...

So it's a bit of a surprise when the new watcher has 'nothing' else on their home page, no other comments, no work or favs to be seen, and they're only watching one person ... me.

And these aren't new accounts, ones a couple years old, the other was set up over 7 years ago.

That I find weird.

I have no idea.

If anything things have not yet caught up with where they were before the shutdown from my perspective. There has been no spike of new people watching me and the number of posts I'm seeing is a little fewer. Maybe some people I've been watching have new accounts I just don't know about yet.

I've been around for a bit but I'd still call myself new.

I had to make a new account because the email I used when making my account the first time is one I had to kill cause people hacked it ;--;

I'm glad I'm a hyper analytical vixing-machine™ and keep all that stuff written down and up to date, low-tech style.

That said, It always makes me wonder if they're "seeding" accounts for plausible deniability later.
I've had a few randoms too just fave everything I've ever uploaded, with strange "non name", names. ~ It's not just normal internet "stalking", because they fave a metric universe of everyone else too <.>
