Dealing with debts
Well, it’s been a long time since I last posted…again. Nevertheless it’s time I finally took action about something, and that’s with my overdue commissions. I owe people a fair bit of work from long ago, and in my current position with having to balance time between my job and my classes, I figure that if I can’t get the work done, then I’d at least try and pay them back.
For the longest time I’ve been avoiding FA because of my workload, staying low and trying my best to show no signs of activity so as not to draw attention to myself, but I can’t just do that forever. There’s a few reasons why I didn’t get these done at the time I took them, having gone homeless for a while being one of the biggest reasons. As you guys know, I was in a real bind years ago, our rent was arbitrarily raised on us and every amount of money mother had was consumed by it, with next to nothing for other bills or even food. I couldn’t find work anywhere as all my applications never got a response, and I had to turn to doing commissions as a job. Pretty much all day was spent cranking them out as quickly as possible, and I had to price myself real low so as to get commissioners. I couldn’t afford to not have any commissions since that literally meant I didn’t get to eat that day, and if I didn’t raise enough to keep the Internet on, then there went my only source of income.
The main reason behind me always taking payment last was specifically to avoid a situation like this, I don’t remember how I got in this fix anyways but chances were I just got terribly desperate. A lot of the overdue work was of sequences, which at the time were major roadblocks since sequences took more time and engagement than standalone pieces and in the end, didn’t feel like an efficient way to sustain the family and myself. I’d work on them when there was nothing else, but often if I got a standalone 5 or 10 piece I’d switch over to that to get it done within the next two hours or so just so I can get money for the day.
And then mother lost her job at the time, and we finally got evicted. I wasn’t able to do much of anything during the time we were homeless, and things just went worse from there up to the point the family severed itself in half. Since that happened a lot of unfinished work stayed unfinished since I wasn’t in the position to do it,
With that all said however, I’m looking to try and pay back everyone I owe, right now I’m paid every week so I’m going to shoot for giving back $10 a week to a person I owe till all my debts are paid off. So if I owe you anything just let me know what it was through a note and how much it was.
Off memory:
boomheadshot I believe $50-60 for some sequences, 2 for an unfinished one, and 3 for an unstarted one.
Kalas $45 for a sequence he got for
ziggyfox
Tiamet64 $45 for an unfinished series involving the dragons from Skylanders
so yeah, just update me if I missed anyone or if I got some details wrong.
