Printing question

Does anyone know a reliable way of counteracting the darkening thaat occurs when you print a piece of digital art? If worse comes to worse I'll just use a Levels layer or something, but I'd prefer something a little more surefire.
On that note, what prints would people be interested in seeing at AC? (Anything but commissions)

-not sure if brand of printer matters-

You want ICC color profiles for your printer and monitor (you may find premade ones on the driver disks or on the Internet). Feed both into your image editor, and the software will automatically compensate for the differences between the devices.
