Who are your favorite artists?
I was spelling the name wrong. Not sure why I thought it was "Bawkz". I blame it on my lack of coffee.

I was going to ask your reason for choosing a digimon as your main critter, but seems someone beat me to that one. So I'll instead ask this. O3O
Your characters all seem to have such nice plump stomachs. I can't imagine they got that way without plenty of delicious foods! Surely you know some secrets that I don't. O3O What is your favorite recipe?
And recipe? I rarely cook, so that's not the best question for me. Although the best recipe I ever made was a homemade pasta carbonara, though it's been a few years.

What got you into the furry fandom in the first place? And when did you realize you were into the things you were? (Macro, vore, etc?) If that's too personal heh, then instead: how did you come up with your sona? He seems inspired by Digimon?

whats your opinion on the supposed struggles between visual and literary work in the furry community. do you think its even really a big problem or is it just something kinda overblown in your opinion

Creator Update comes out in April, has a lot of changes for Windows Phone which should help out quite a bit. Plus one of the big features for Windows Phone that's in testing right now is the ability to both run ARM apps and X86 apps, swapping back between the two. Add that to the fact you can use a Windows Phone like a laptop through Continuum and Windows Phone/Surface is poised for some interesting abilities.
Microsoft just has to really come out with a device people are going to want.

It was back around the time of my second Anthrocon (2000, I think) and K-9 was in the Dealer's Den. He was one of the people that got me into furry art in the first place, and I was totally in love with his scratchy, yet warm style. His characters had so much damn expression, but I was too afraid to ask him for art, so I begged a friend to give him my sketchbook for me and draw my hyena, Preyfar. <3

Some of the questions are based because I came to fa several years after it began.
I just got involved with it, and when FA died in 2006, I helped throw a bunch of money at the site, help get hardware purchased and helped try to keep the community together.
Also since being the main leader of fa do you have any regrets or do you feel it's been a long challenging road that's been worth the struggles?
As far as regrets... I totally regret not going with my guts and not following my instincts early on. For example: banning cub art across the board from day one. People kept fighting that it was illegal, telling me it violate the law, and... turned out it wasn't quite. And rather than follow my instincts about whether it "should be" on the site I went with "could be". I let the discussion dictate the direction, not myself.
And yes, worth it. I've seen artists who've started on FA move on to be successful in the film and television industry, people become seriously good, evolve their style. And I want to support that and people's success.
What is it you mostly like about dragons and digimon that drew you into creating your fursona and how has your fursona evolved since you became a furry?
Dragons are infinite. There's no one rule about what they are or can and can not be. They're the avatars of imagination. No limits except for the creativity of the individual.
And my character has evolved quite a bit, and I'm going through another kind of character evolution soon. Want to update Dragoneer a bit post-2016.
The final question what skills does it take to become a admin of fa I was always curious about that?
Occasionally we'll do recruitment calls for the community. One of the bigger requirements is being able to handle frustrated users, as being an admin can be rewarding, but the moment you're called out for something you did (or even didn't do) it can be nerve wracking to a lot of people. We've had a lot of people step down because of that.
I think I've talked about doing it for just that reason about once a year ever since I came on staff. End of the day I'm just too much of a softie to leave the rest of staff in the lurch, though.
Though I reserve the right to foam at the mouth if you're mean to my precious mod babbies.
With what Pokémon team side are you on? What did you think of the movie about Peter's dragon? And I hope you have had a great holiday
And I'm not on a Pokemon side (I can't play Go), and I skipped Pete's Dragon because I'm really not interested in Disney's remakes into live action films. I liked the design of the dragon, but... just had no interest in the film itself.
I like to play CoD online, but only in mute. I'm deaf anyways so...
Sciggles also has two cats that I live with (Morty and Gipsy Danger, I got to name Gipsy. XD).
Secondly, if you had the ability to do so (through some other means), what career or hobby would you do?
I think I'd love to be a Master Builder and help design Lego sets. I'd be terrible at it, but the fun of having the entire Lego library at your fingertips...
Buwaha, now that you mention it, that does sound awesome. Though I'm sure steel soles would be required in such a dangerous workplace.

Oh man, that's always a hard one.
1) I think I'd like to wish for the powers of life and creation. I'd love to be able to heal people who are sick and dying, to be able to give people empathy for the situations of others and prevent tragedy. And to be able to create life. Kobolds NEED to be a real thing.
2) My second wish would be for me never to forget where I came from so I'd never let those powers get to my head.

Well, it wasn't terrible? I didn't have a lot of money to do anything, but I mostly got some much needed vegging. I think one day I pretty much just slept for almost 12 hours buried under four large, fat cats (quite literally).
And, you only like macro in the "FA way" ? I mean with non human characters?
But, if you want drama, I'll give you a confession:
At one of my previous jobs I went into the bathroom to do my business. Upon entering the stall, I noticed the toilet was on the verge of overflowing. It was NASTY, trying not to vomit in my mouth levels of nasty (which would have sucked since the toilet was on the precipice of disaster).
When I backed away, I triggered the toilet's motion sensor. And it flushed. And like a portal to Hell unleashing millions of demonspawn the toilet began to erupt. And I very, very casually walked out like an obese ninja. And I didn't tell anyone. I mean, I wanted to do, but I was afraid that people would be like "Haha, that fat guy took a shit so big he broke the toilet!". No, no... I wasn't going to be that guy. I didn't want to be known as the Toilet Guy at work.
I later found out that the toilet didn't quite STOP erupting like it should have. And it partially flooded the floor. I had no idea, and felt terrible after. I still never told anyone. I mean, it wasn't my fault the toilet was let like it was, and that the sensor got triggered... but I never told anyone.
And I know that somebody had to clean that, and I've felt terrible about that for years.
TL;DR I summoned an angry toilet spirit that ravaged the coastline.

And favorite thing? Play games and watch movies. I used to love traveling, getting in my car and just going places... but I've not had the money to do that in recent years.
I usually don't mind it unless people just go on and on. People are going to vent, and venting is good, but I want to be able to do other things, too.

Totally. I just finished Quantum Break this past week (first game I've really finished in a long time) and the game was so freakin' good it was like a religious experience. It was short, but it was a really quality title that handled it story and environments amazingly. I also play Elder Scrolls Online, and a few other games (just got Battlefield 1 on my Xbox).
What inspired your affinity for dragons? Not necessarily fat ones.
Dragons are pure imagination. There's just no right or wrong way to make one.
What sort of video game genres do you prefer?

And for games I need a good story. Story must be first, so usually FPS games, adventure or RPGs fit that bill.
And I prefer dragons, period. Fat dragons I have a slight bias to, but... XD

Many, many moon ago I was playing Counter-Strike on a public server with a clan who kept talking about going "all MLG". I was laughing because I found MLG stupid (and still do), and they called me a scrub. Meanwhile, they all got wiped... except for me. I was somehow left standing, and not a single freakin' enemy was taken down. And, somehow, I managed to take down the entire team on my own, without getting hit once... and did it all in a matter of seconds.
And then the MLG guys banned me from their server for "hacking" because there's no way a clanless scrub like me could have done what I did.
And Dragon's Dogma. Something about the ending to the game and the story of the cycles really fucked me up emotionally.

What is most important to you about a fursona/cartoon character/etc..?
Re-order the following aspects of characters, in ascending order!
- Presentation (how well they're drawn/written from a technical perspective)
- Background & related lore
- Style of personality (e.g. I love how X is shy rather than the why and how)
- Depth of personality (e.g. I love how X is shy because of deep-rooted reasons rather than just that they are shy)
- Appearance
- Harmony between appearance & personality
- Relations & Rivalries

Appearance isn't as important as distinction. You can be a truly generic looking fox, but carry yourself in a manner and style which sets you apart from others, dialect, quirks in accent... all sorts of things wrap up a character together to make something truly unique.
My hyena, Preyfar, grew up in a poor community where rival hyena clans would fight for territory and compete for sport, so to make money and help his clan, he became a junker. He collects scraps, broken down gear and other trash and converts them into makeshift weapons (hence his welding goggles). An old car fender has enough steel to be folded over, welded shit, riveted and cut into a menacing weapon. It made not last long, but it can do a lot of damage.
Preyfar "hates" lions, and rags on them all the time. And by hate he places up to species stereotypes, giving them a hard time and referring to them as "bushkittens" and "shrubheads". He's an opportunist, never turning down a free drink or a hot meal, or any other sort of fun. He's also a chem addict, and will try just about anything once. Or twice. Or for a few years.
And that point about distinction > appearance.. hoo, hoo! I'm going to be quoting that paragraph of yours to every person who asks me innocent internet questions like, "how are some webcomics with super generic character drawings more popular than comics with amazingly detailed character drawings?!"
Lastly, that's a neat (and cynical!) set of things you have going for Preyfar. Guess you can call him a species-ist! XP

As an example of what I mean: Nobody would blink twice if someone posted art of Simba (from Lion King) sitting at a table, sipping tea between scenes in the filming of the movie. But put someone's personal character into the picture instead, and that's character theft. How "personal" does that character have to be for it to be unacceptable? If a character's used to make a profit, does that open it up to use? Or does it more depend on if it's from a company rather than being associated with the individual person that came up with the design?

The answer to this is fan art is as equally a valid form of art as anything else. Period. However, therein lies the distinction you pointed out -- what's the difference between a character like Simba and a character like mine (Preyfar)? The answer to that, and one we hold as site admins is this: a character like Simba represents a property, such as the Lion King while a character like Preyfar represents a person (me).
The breakdown is basically commercial -vs- personal. Fan Art is still an important and viable form of artistic expression.

Part of the reason why FA was created as an alternative to Sheezy Art. Back in the day, DeviantArt and other sites had blocked out mature/adult art, and Sheezy came about as a place for people to be able to post mature/adult work. A huge chunk of the community flocked to them but they changed their policies overnight, without warning, and removed adult content and started taking action against people who posted it. Alkora decided to try to create an alternative that was furry-centric and open to everyone, for artist of all types.

Where do you see FA in 10 years? Seems like a long while but I've already been here for around 7! Do you think it would look drastically different? Lots of new functions? Do you feel the community will change along with it?

I want to thank you for that specifically. FA is my main artist site of income. I am located most other places but FA's community has always been the best to me. If I had not come here and began doing commissions all these years, I don't think my art would be at the decentish level it's at now. It's really helped me grow as an artist. uvu Thanks to the original creator, you and the staff that's kept this place going. Even despite the drama that comes down every now and then.

Like JD from Scrubs except you don't get to see the fantasies. And I'd want him to make horrible, outlandish comments like "Those dick nipples need to be FIVE FEET HIGHER!" and "Show the tongue. Show the tongue. SHOW THE DAMN TOG... now that's too much tongue. Didn't you listen to a think I said?"

Also, I've heard rumors about a falling out with a user Samael, something about not allowing him certain space on a server which is why he left. I don't think any of that is true but you're welcome to dispel any rumors.
Fix writing support. It's pretty bad in its current state, and doesn't do any real sort of respect to writers/authors.

That's news to me. I'm not aware of any falling out/issues with Samael whatsoever. He's one of my favorite artists and I love his work. But you're welcome to ask him directly.
EDIT: I know he decided to give FA some distance after the May issue last year, which I completely and totally respect and understand, but it wasn't a space issue/him requesting something particular.
One more thing, who are your favorite artists to commission? I may be looking for someone to help me make a round bellied gator.

this past whole year, and I've been quite happy using it. Especially the most recent ones. It looks like you've been improving features

on that update. Maybe because it's like the original? I didn't mind the current one, but I guess everyone else did. Either way,
my favorite part of BETA has been that the control panel was all in one place instead of a million. Makes it tons easier to get through settings.
2) If a friend has been falsely accused, yes, I would defend him. And I have before. However, if he was guilty... there's no way I'd defend him. Likewise, I expect any other admin to call me out on such a mistake if one were to happen, too.
1. Can/Could/Would the FA staff try and add the Heart Eyes Emoji face? That would be a much welcomed addition I think, plus just be so much fun and cuteness. - side note, would the staff/programmers ever re-vamp the emojis?
