Problems with Daz, upgrade to Poser?
I have been having a lot of problems with Daz Studio lately, from rendering issues to recently a lot of lag in the program. I wonder if part of it is a computer issue, as I have one game that is constantly telling me to 'upgrade my graphics card driver' even though it is already at the most recent version. Posing scenes lately has been a pain, and as of last night I couldn't render a scene because some SSS materials kept throwing errors.
I checked my graphics card driver, and I uninstalled/reinstalled Daz Studio, but there was no improvement.
I am now considering going to Poser. It is on sale at the moment (only for today though. I wish I saw that earlier), for $175. It has a number of tools that I would like, and it works with my large Daz content library already.
What do you guys think? For those who use poser, what can you tell me about it? Does it have particles? What are the render speeds like?

Barring that though, and back to the journal topic at hand, I'm not sure really. I haven't followed D|S development in ages, and the last time I recall hearing folks talk about it was like six or seven months ago and there was mostly just talk about increasingly poor performance with the program and people "downgrading" to earlier versions simply because they were faster and more stable. So... Maybe Poser might be better, or maybe just try dialing back a version or so to see if that improves anything.
