just another repetitive artist?
Okay, honest question to everyone out there. am I a repetitive artist?
I mean yeah, I'm exclusively interested in inflation, but does the stuff I do just look identical all across the board?
I know long ago
TehSquishyRay described me as being repetitive. but only recently when I asked another artist he mentioned that looking at my gallery, all he saw were just circles with the occasional thing that broke the monotony. like the dinobloon series. and looking at my own gallery, I can see it too, and that worried me.
when it came to drawing inflation, the formality of it was always a prime focus. I try my best to convey subjects with a sense of volume in respect to their form, rather than simply drawing a sphere with arms and legs. but in reality, am I just drawing circles and overthinking it? and am I just another crummy, repetitive artist?
I'm an adult, I can take criticism. so if I'm actually nowhere near as good of an artist as I think I am. and if my quality is genuinely bottom grade. than just let me know. on one hand inflation art isn't the only thing I do. but on the other hand I do like to feel that whatever I do, I do it well.

But definitely not repetitive. .
I'll definitely look towards doing more in terms of context and the subjects I inflate at least. even if the body shape looks the same at the end. I can do more surrounding it.
I really enjoy your art and I think you're perfect at the body type you love, but you do have a problem with variety. The body/arm/leg proportions of your characters are very similar and it isn't immediately obvious they are different until you look at small details like the face. I also think it would help if you stuck to darker sketches and tried adding flats more often. Color can go a long way towards making pictures stand out!
With that being said, you are an above-average artist in terms of technical skill. You have a good sense of volume and your characters expand in believable ways. Maybe just try deviating from that a bit and being less anatomically rigorous! Look at other artists and absorb how they do inflation.
I don't think that's a bad thing though. I think a lot of people like artists who do very similar things most of the time. Especially if it's a particular theme or fetish that they enjoy. I know that I enjoy watching artists who do inflation exclusively more than someone who draws all sorts of things with a little inflation thrown in the mix.
i did notice a few places where it is like a similar shape/pose, so the charcters do look like it was sort of a same picture, different charcter.
i think that's all i can REALLY say.
Plus, You have done something else other than just inflation.. I has commissioned you several times and wanted a fat styled/weight gain sequence. And when they got massive in fat, they were fat in a cute, obese or whale-like fatness. I liked it a lot and it was quite unique in your art-style. Something that only a few will achieve.
I also remember in wanting you to make even bigger and fatter characters at such a massive size. You had some issues at times, But you also got in a nice practice for both fat an inflation at a much, greater size. So I hope you enjoyed most of the works I commissioned from you as I, have enjoyed all of them.
Seriously, to be told all your stuff only looks like circles is a load of crap. If anything, your inflation shapes have always come off as varied in shape if you ask me.
Just focus on your own goals, first and foremost, and only change them if yoou really want to. Maybe there's something else yoou want to work on instead of "variety." What are 3 of your art goals these days?
More importantly, let's consider the most influential painter out there, Bob Ross, was incredibly formulaic, to the point that you can look at his wikipedia page and get a spreadsheet of his subject material and how many painting contained it. But you know what, it made him happy, and it made others happy. Sure some people thought he was a hack, but it didn't matter to him, and it shouldn't matter to you.
So I think people do enjoy your art, looking at comments and raw favorite numbers. The bigger question is do you enjoy your art. If you feel it's too repetitive, try some simple coloring; I bet your gallery would look very different. If you feel like your stagnating try a picture outside your comfort zone. The Lufia stuff was a neat idea, as there is a wealth of odd subject material there (good choice of game there), or just try one picture completely different from inflation to see if you like it. It doesn't need to be fat, muscle, macro, or anything similar to inflation, just try something else for a change to see if you like it. No need to post, no need to get any further than you want, but if you are feeling bored by what you are doing, just try playing around for a bit.
