Terrible Circumstances
Something horrible has happened. I've gotten into a vehicle accident. my car got utterly destroyed, and worst of all it seems I'm at fault, you see It was a largely open road with just the two of us on it, and I was making a left turn into my neighborhood. unfortunately I seemed to have misjudged my timing and the person coming from the opposite directly slammed into me at full speed. their car seems to still be able to drive but mine is as good as done for.
I have no transportation, and now I'm terrified that the folks that hit me will also try to sue me in an opportunistic reach for money. no one was hurt thankfully but I was the biggest loser in this exchange. lost a car that I've spent months saving for and took a loan out for (which I'm still paying off.) I've got a ticket on the grounds of failing to yield to deal with, and now my ability to keep up with my academics as well as my job are in jeopardy.
I bring this all up mainly to say...I don't know what's going to happen to me. I feel I'm going to be losing a lot of money I don't have, as well as opportunities I've been trying to reach for. I don't think this event will send me back onto the streets but I'm going to be facing hard times here.
I may even be forced to try and start commissions if it get's that dire, though I still owe some money so that might not be an option anyways.

Human error shouldn't be worth suing over. Those penny-snatching *beep*s shouldn't be bothered.
...but I think that's just my own paranoia talking. even though their car remained functional I inwardly felt that they'd be cruel enough to try and take me to court since I' technically at fault in this, really, it wouldn't be practical as I have no money to take.
And I figure that you probably don't have any insurance? Or you at least have third party insurance?
but it's on state law that if I have to turn into incoming traffic I need to give them the right of way. in all honesty I felt they had enough time to try and break, they were several hundred feet ahead when I took the turn and we were literally the only two people on that road, and yet didn't slow down at all. but I don't think there's any way to prove it. and odds are their story might have painted me as being the reckless one.
People are morons on the road, is what I'm saying. But yeah, i see your concerns, since it was a pretty foolish thing to do on your part.
sadly, you can't change the past, you just have to hope that the future has something worth looking forward to.
I almost got rear ended myself 2 years ago. I had my turn signal on, in a 2 lane street. And some idoit nearly rear ended me, WHILE talking on a cellphone.
Jeeze I just hope you don't lose your case. Otherwise, crime life may possibly be in your future. It's a dog-eat-dog out there in the so called U.S.A...
in fact, I daresay they were speeding. however the only person there was the patrol officer who was conveniently at the location right when we hit.
i have been hit by a car before and the only solace i can give you is that...well at least you didn't get hurt ^^ When i got hit there were months of pain to recover to go through and i don't wish that upon anyone.
Perhaps you should try to get some commissions, any extra money when dealing with such property damage is sure to come in handy.
