Someone once told me that they specifically don't like nipples on furries or scalies because the idea of a soft hairless dot of flesh on thick animal fur or hard reptile scales was weird. I personally like it, but to each his own.

Don't think it's a 'global' problem (as you're referring "people"). I mean... I think females kinda like them (regardless of species/furry/scalie), while only the males aren't obsessed wiith them as they SHOULD, for whatever reasons... What a shame.

I like nipples myself...sends tingles of pleasure through me..quite the sensitive spot.
However its each there own like everything. And most i find are just sooo furry they dont like them on such characters. But there always hot to me.

Don't know. I love nipples myself. Delicious little or big saucers of meat with that rich fleshy taste are he way to go on huge powerful males.

I like nipples when they're done realistically. Even though I do find non-mammals with nipples questionable, I do not consider it a big deal in the grand scheme of things. It's their character at the end of the day.

But I AM bothered at how so many artists love to make the nipples obnoxiously ginormous, misplace their position on males (protip: they are NOT in the center of the pecs like breasts are), and/or add far too much detail to them.

They look more like chest "airplugs" when people make them oversized, and I find it to be a major turn off when this occurs.

I love nipples! Hyper nipples, super long nipples, all of that. But I've found that the larger you make the nipples, the more revulsion you get from others. Not really sure about that. Hyper breasts, dicks, and such are fine, but long nips, fat nips....those tend to freak out people. It makes me sad.

It ruins the shape and flow when overdone.
99.9% of the muscle fur art has them overdone.

You could argue that everything about muscle fur art is overdone, but it's kinda the same with pretty much anything.
There's a fine line.

If you like drawing nipples then draw nipples; if it's your own work you can do whatever you want to. With commissioned work, well, that's up to the person paying you money

You might be getting a skewed perspective from this crowd, but I like nipples as well. In fact I find it a little odd to think of someone being anything but positive or apathetic about them. I mean dislike?

I mean, maybe if its exaggerated past the point of parody some people might not like it as much. Or if you put in weird extra details or make it look diseased or filthy. I dunno, seems extreme to me.

I don't mind nipples. I just am not a fan of super huge/hyper nipples. I feel they detract from the size of things like pectorals as well, smaller nipples just show off just how big they are. I like proportionate nipples. :3

As most people not involved will be naturally incline to think of it in some sexual manner when you make the nipples pronounced.

Its just a situation in which is generally not super acceptable to have huge nipples poking out and getting into people faces.

Well I'm kinda ambivalent about nipples and usually just ignore them. The problem is that when they are so big that they can't be ignored, then they start looking alien to me. But they look alien to me the same way cocks do. Basically, since my kind has a very smooth and simple shape, anything with bumps or sticks or nubs that stick out from an otherwise smooth skin look alien. But I wouldn't it's bad or complain about it. It's just very...alien...but I respect it from a distance. And in my own drawings I do simple/cartoony things, and I feel like nipples maybe don't belong on super simple drawings just because it's out of place it have mostly simple but then suddenly super detailed in one spot. But with your work looking so realistic, nipples make good sense there. But idk.

Dunno, personally I love nipples.
