IT'S BEEN A WHILE~ (UPDATE!)

wow.. so usually i make journals whenever holidays and events hit but i've felt so like... anti-social? i'm so sorry LOL orz... i miss giving updates and stuff but lately i've just been busy and occupied with things that when i finally decide to sit down and do an update or talky journal i just go "eh" and stop.. jeez where do i even begin here--- if you're interested in my daily life you can always follow my twitter (@alpacasovereign) if you want to talk on there and see what i'm up to!!
happy SUPER BELATED NEW YEAR JEEZ my holidays were wonderful though!! <3 i had a really lovely time with the family!!! christmases are so different now, but in the best way possible tbh... we are both now also getting into BJDs as a hobby since we both got eachother a doll for xmas-- and i want to work on faceups as commission one day so you will see my attempts here too showing up, hehe <3
oh and i got new glasses!!! mama bought them for me and i am forever so thankful ;___; my prescription got worse (a -15 to a -17) and my glasses were over 4 years old. i've always had issues seeing from distance before due to my nearsightedness, but i really could not see much past a few inches from my face. it was REALLY awful. and mama was so worried so she took me to try and get help, but a lot of places couldn't do my prescription because it's a specific high-index lens, but also VERY specifically for people with shit eyesight (aka me) and she found a guy last moment that really helped us.. it was something like a miracle, i think.
but i just got my new glasses on friday and i've adjusted to them fully i think! no headaches! and they are so cute and perfect, and best of all, i can see from reasonable distances again like on grocery store shelves or food menus and street signs and license plates-- and it's a very new and magical world for me :'D my glasses before have never been this.. clear either. like everything was in HD when i put them on, i couldnt stop looking at my hands and how sharp and vivid everything was. i can't really explain it, but it was such a good feeling, i could've cried- I WAS close to crying, but i was too excited and happy to cry. but they are finally starting to feel more natural, the shape of the lens also helps my peripherals so i can see REALLY far down or up and to the sides because the lenses are so big and wide!
in the future i am looking into gas membrane contacts to help my eyesight, and maybe even phakic IOL surgery, but that's around 2-5k PER EYE and doesn't take insurance because insurance can suck my dick but. maybe one day. my parents let me know they're selling the house and i get a cut of it so i could put it towards that.. or just go to sweden or norway and get it done for way cheaper lololol BUT WE SHALL SEE...
what else-- oh! my birthday is coming up on thursday, the first! i can't believe i'm turning 25 haha.. it's very weird, like i didn't expect to see 25. not for any dark reasons.. well maybe, but also because like, thinking of how you age is just so WEIRD. i still feel like i'm 21. after 21, nothing really changes much. 23, 24, 25-- it all feels the exact same honestly. BUT I'M VERY EXCITED because we're taking friday off to go get free drinks and go to albany to pick up a game that my wife is picking up for me as my gift! and maybe browsing their mall? idk, i just love walking around malls and exploring stores. and then sushi for lunch, and ITS JUST gonna be a REALLY good time <33 and then birthday dinner with the family on sunday night! SO IM REALLY REALLY EXCITED.
idk man there's a lot going on right now but that's the main stuff hip happening around, there's more to it than that but this is already really long.. oops..
OH YEAH, ABOUT COMMISSIONS--
i don't make enough on patreon to stop taking them. i will leave my commission post up in a journal again and let people come and go with them for very minimal support when those on patreon aren't interested. it's just because after helping pay for stuff, i don't get to save much of it either, so i will be making adopts and collabs and YCHs and stuff soon to help my goal for house saving! <3 so if you try to get a commission and there's no response i am probably either not very interested or i am waiting for the right time to accept it.
i am also considering raising my prices more since i don't plan on taking them normally, so expect a price raise on them soon. i have 2 i have taken over xmas that will be finished in the next few weeks at my leisure, but yeah-- just a heads up on what i'm thinking about i guess!
