If you're fetishizing murder and torture and necrophilia, especially together, to get off, you're not excersizing your right to fantasy, you're training to be a psychopath.
Ive seen a lot of that on FA and I'd honestly have to agree. Some of this shit is so twisted you just have to wonder where these people's heads are at when it comes to doing things to reach sexual gratification. I don't trust someone who's into that to have control over themselves in the long run. Especially if it relates to dead animals/people. There's been too many scandals within the fandom regarding zoosadists and animal fuckers for all of it to just be "harmless" fantasy.
I feel, personally. there are things about me that some people would find untrustworthy as in " I wonder how he will end up"
But the end of the the day I have a very - very strict moral line I draw in the sand, regardless of this or that, necro - sadism, what ever. and I hope at least im a "trustworthy" enough person because of it.
- I do not like, encourage, approve of any situcation - real or fake - where the goal is sexual gratification at the consequence of either: Robbing a person's control of their life - This is also murder, vore, gore, crush. If you restrict a person's ability to make choices in life or the ability to live their life at all - against their will, I do not approve - at all.
-If you enforce some kind of condition of fear for one's life or limb onto some one - in any sense - be it threats of death or dismemberment ultimately leading that person to being in a state of panic - I do not approve.
- bringing harm against someone in any way - against their will and thereby placing the conditions or possibility of the first two points on them - I do not approve.
I think that as long as people keep a proper perspective
I mean how many books , novel , television shows , etc that are based in the killing feild even before furaffinity came online.
How many comic books & outside games were there with a theme of violence even before the internet
How many of us have parents or grandparents who in the 1960s & before time played at killing the enemy but pointing a broom handle or tree branch or anything they could fashion then say bang bang deadmeat
How many times have even Civil War Renenactors had real live naked relations with another person on a bed of red paint or scattered pig blood after decimating the troops of Gen. Robert E Lee
I think too many good people have gotten in the bad habit of looking for quick & easy answers to societies complex problems
psychopath people do happen but I also think that most good people do get looking in the wrong places for those psychopaths & allot of times the only way to see that is the passage of time
(an example a person who might've had known a psychopath growing up might've found out that person was a psychopath & the 2 parted ways but then years later the elder people around the 2 or just 1 might think the 2 friends still hangout)
The exploration of a fantasy, no matter how dark, in a safe, consensual environment where no one gets hurt, is actually healthy.
We are all, as human beings, possessed with urges and the ability to do great harm to one another. This is a well and oft documented fact of the human psyche and the human condition. Deep down, we are all capable of being barbarous, vicious and fiendish.
To want to explore that aspect of ourselves, can often be a thrill. To attempt to explore it in real life, however, has obvious consequences. So many people, with the advent of this wonderful thing called the World Wide Web, and the anonymity it empowers, will seek to put a toe in the water, so to speak, to explore and perhaps even revel in those urges.
They are urges which have been with us since the beginning of the human race. For millennia. To attempt to block them or to put an end to them, is a notion which can only be characterized as foolhardy.
To put down people who wish to safely explore these urges, is bigotry.
Open mindedness and acceptance of our fellow human being, is the cornerstone upon which human civilization is built. To seek to go against it, is to invite it all to come crashing down upon one's head.
There are exceptions to this, one being pedophilia. Exploration of these urges indirectly harms people. Consuming CP fuels the market for more CP to be created, and thus harms children. Not all fetishes are equal, and not all of them can be safely explored without consequence. Sure, you may consume simulated pornography as it relates to your fetish but there is still that percentile of people who will want to make that fantasy a reality. Some people like to equate this reasoning to the false argument that "violent video games cause violence", but entertainment and carnal desires are on two different spectrums when it comes to acting them out. Sexual urges are very intense...
The fact that someone is aroused by something like murder, corpses, and death is very telling of that person's psychological state. There is no way to consent to being killed without consequence to both you and any party involved. Something like "torture" can be simulated safely, but still that does not come close to actually fantasizing about killing another living being and having your way with their remains.
At the end of the day you can be into whatever you wish... However, the stigma behind very extreme/violent fetishes will always exist because of the implications behind them and what they say about the people who are interested in them.
Also, you give people too little credit. We can and must express self control when it comes to these antiquated urges. To say that it is foolhardy to resist wanting to kill someone for sexual gratification is strange. To put someone down for fantasizing about murder is not bigotry, it is the correct thing to do. Coddling someone with these interests will only make them think it is okay.
See, my frustration is one of psychological origin. When we encourage harmful behavior, when we self-associate behavior with pleasure - we tie them together in a chemical sense in our brains. We make a direct connection between and act and receiving dopamine. I personally do not subscribe to the idea that private practice of - arguably - psychopathic tendencies vents this behavior but in fact, reinforces it.
All of this triggered me when I came across a story that saught to seek audience approval for not only the decapitation of an innocent person while being raped but also the added irony that it was at the hands of people they trusted and the entire situation reeked of hardcore schadenfreude both overtly and subjectively. It was an exercise in relentless brutality for self gratification , was completely self aware of that fact and non-appologetic. It felt like one of those things you come across rummaging through jeffrey dahmer's things. It made me.... Very upset. I'm intimately aware of the circumstance I'm in here. I chose to read it out of curiosity and had - more or less, a flickering of a warning and all of this could of been well avoid with a simple act of not engaging - but it is the principal of the thing that upsets me and worries me. To me, a die is being cast on this person, and it's weighted towards an unfortunate outcome.
I agree 100%! Although, I'm mostly desensitized to things of that nature from years of being on the web.
Anyways, normalizing these fantasies is beyond harmful... I don't understand people who have no boundaries when it comes to their moral standards. Nobody is asking you to be a prude fundamentalist Christian but PLEASE AT LEAST DRAW THE LINE AT MURDER. If we send pedophiles to get therapy then why shouldn't we do the same to people who get off on killing, raping, torturing people...? Society has degraded so far that half the people in your journal's comments think that having these fetishes is okay... Think about that...
Yea but I have to live with these human beings, and personally id rather not be living around people jacking it to murdering a guy. That's not bigotry - that's survival sense.
People can fetishize all kinds of things, but I am less likely to trust someone and def not gonna encourage someone finding death and murder and torture against people's will in anyway to be the correct thing to think about. If they lived their authentic selves - Id be dead. Unless I'm not hot enough to gut and murder in which case. >_>;;
