hey nerds

I've had three people now actually seem relatively serious about donating to me and asking if I have a Patreon, which is weird enough.
It's mostly weird that these people are all relatively friends, and I just.......
I mean I won't lie, I am trying to make money with my writing, but I definitely don't believe I'm even remotely Patreon worthy. I Don't even know what I would do as tiers. only thing I could thing of would be an increasing discount on writing commissions and then maybe, at a very high tier, a custom colored adopt every other month or so.
A friend of mine specifically suggested I offer a tier where I rant about a movie or anime of the person's choosing, but I think only they enjoy just how much I dislike As Above So Below as a movie.

But I completely understand the anxiety and self-consciousness of worrying if you're 'patreon worthy' plus having a consistent rewards system is a challenge in itself if you get to that point.
Though going back to worthiness, I think the only thing that could be a useful marker for trying out patreon is whether or not you can commit to be consistent with a certain baseline of content creation. To me, patreon is at the bare minimum a commitment to creating a certain amount of something to show for your efforts every month, but that's my take on it!
I think your writing is worth sharing and putting yourself out there if that is something you want to do!
You know, I honestly never thought about it like that. I also didn't realize that there was a tip jar!
I mean, I do write often. I just have to get myself to upload it, and I have this bad habit of bouncing back and forth between projects so it takes ages to get one full thing done. I'm also waiting on some cover art for one of my horror projects, so there's a lot of stuff that I have that I don't wanna upload yet. Not that I couldn't just update the thumbnail with the cover art once I get it... hm.
I know for a fact that I definitely won't ever stop writing, so I'll always have something to put out. And I guess just as a little bonus I could throw in little chibi customs every once and a while for higher tiers as a thank you. And then stuff that I don't wanna put here, for whatever reason.
Huh. Guess it's definitely something to think about.
And I totally understand bouncing around between projects, I can rarely sit on one thing for too long before I get really restless @_@ But in that regard, I follow an artist that posts content from two different stories (as comic page updates) back and forth so if they don't have an update for story A there's usually an update for story B that week! You don't have to be literally consistent with one project in your creation presentation imo!!
So yea, long story short, don't count yourself out and definitely play around with the idea some more ^v^
