General | Posted 8 years agoI've been asked about a public Discord server, so why not. This server is open to anyone who wants to join, whether they're a fan of my art or not.
There's no overall point, purpose, or theme to the server. There are a few channels that should be self explanatory, but here's a quick run down.
welcome: just for welcome messages. A bot will welcome you and display the rules.
chatter: main channel for discussions. Talk about whatever you want.
tatsumaki: a channel specifically for interacting with Tatsumaki (nicknamed Monokuma on my server)
art exchange/NSFW: share art. Please keep nudity, excessive violence, etc to the NSFW channel.
link spam: for posting links/URLs of cool stuff you found
shutterbug: post pictures of whatever. SFW only please.
stream/commissions: channels for me to announce streams and commission availability.

With the gentle urging of my favorite of my sons therapists, I sought out mental health treatment many months ago, after a long stint of being useless and not knowing why, which was preceded by an entire lifetime of being somewhat useless but managing to scrape by out of sheer willpower or necessity. 2017 just didn't work out that way for me though, so I finally got the courage to ask a mental health professional why.
Therapy hasn't been very helpful for me overall, but I finally have answers, which itself has been a tremendous help. I learned that my son is autistic a little while back. He was REALLY behind at 1 year old, so we started services, but that was too young to know for sure. Fast forward in time, and it got more and more obvious that he's on the spectrum. The apple didn't fall far from the autism tree, because earlier this year I found out that good ol' Momma Tee is autistic AF and this new found information, along with 3 additional diagnoses I received, makes my entire life make sense.
So there's that. I had a hard time coping with life in general, then I had to go and have a baby, and then my dad passed away in a very sad and painful manner, and then my son turned out to be extra freaking difficult to take care of and I just crashed. 2016 was hard and I couldn't do it anymore when 2017 came around.
So, I didn't. I didn't do anything, except the bare minimum for my son. For months. His main therapist, who I love and trust so much, grew concerned and gently suggested I look into my own health for once, and so I did. And now I know so much more about myself. Ever since, I've been on a journey to learn as much as I can about myself and how to make things work for me. This has come at the expense of my friendships and my connection to you guys, here. I can't apologize enough to those I owe art and money to, and those who've tried to keep in contact with me but have failed. I really suck in general, but especially this year. I'm sorry.
So, what now? Well, as I posted recently, my cat of 16 years just recently passed, in a very painful and sad manner as well, and I'm still recovering. I'm better now than when it first happened, but it's on my mind every day. With that, Christmas marks 2 years since my dad has passed. December is full of emotions for me, but I'm trying my hardest to get my life in order. Come January, I am sucking it up and getting it done. No more excuses.
Once I have cleared myself from everything I owe, I will NOT be returning to commissions in the foreseeable future. I simply cannot commit to any sort of time constraints right now, and I can't allow myself to keep stringing people along. It's unprofessional and not someone I want to be. I'm not saying I quit art forever (especially not personal art), but I am not promising that commissions will be available any time soon. I need to focus on myself, my family, and my goals in life for awhile longer.
So, I suppose the gist so far is that I have been broken for a very, very long time, and never knew why. I finally shut down completely and that lead to me finally knowing why I suck so much. Now I see the world so much more clearly, but it will take time to repair myself. Commissions do not fit into my vision of self healing. Art is my hobby and must remain as such for the time being.
I feel like this is unnecessarily long, so I'm going to wrap it up. Here are a few other things that have happened lately, for anyone interested:
1. I drew something (gasp) recently and it was actually pretty dang cute. I'll upload it. I have not drawn much at all in like... 8 months. So, I was surprised to see I can still do it.
2. I decorated the house for Christmas this year. I've never decorated for holidays in the past, save for maybe a tree or stockings or something very small. This year, I Christmas'd the heck out of the kitchen, dining and living rooms. It's a nice mood boost.
3. For a brief moment in time, I was financially well off, so I decided to treat myself. I bought an F2 Savannah kitten and he's the most darling little thing ever. I got him shortly before Dorito passed away, which did not dull the pain of losing her at all, but in the time since she's been gone, it's been nice to have a cat's love still. He's the perfect little kitty.
4. Another treat I bought for myself is a brand new tablet. It's really nice, but I was hoping it'd incentivize me to draw more often. It has not. BUT, I'm going to force myself to draw more often come January, and it'll certainly make that easier than the janky set up I had before.
5. I'm not as financially as well off as I originally thought, so no more fancy gifts for myself. Instead, I'm actually looking to cut down on my massive Pokemon collection, which is very time consuming. I kind of needed to prune it out anyway, so this is a good time to do so.
That's it. I'm done info dumping my personal life to mostly strangers. Enjoy. I'm going to go work on sorting things I owe to people now. Good night and happy holidays~

General | Posted 8 years agoI am financially able to pay back everyone that I owe. I promised by the end of October, but I was unable to meet that goal. I apologize. Between my son's therapy appointments, helping my husband meet his own end of month goals (which we missed there, as well), and running my cats back and forth to the vet, I just haven't had the chance to sit down and sort out what I owe to who. I have it all in a spreadsheet, but the most time consuming part is verifying the paypal email of everyone, so that I don't send the money to an abandoned account.

General | Posted 8 years agoFor those who haven't noticed, I have not been around much lately, not just FA but the internet in general. I have been focusing on my mental health and personal life. I didn't say anything at first because I didn't think it would last this long, but alas, here we are. I plan to have everyone I owe money to paid back by the beginning of October, and art ASAP. Once my plate is completely clear, I'll be taking an indefinite leave of absence. During this time, commissions will be closed completely.

Quick sketch commissions - OPEN
General | Posted 9 years agoI have not had enough money coming in because I have not had many chances to stream lately. I'm trying to change this, but in the mean time, I need a little bit of cash to cover upcoming bills.
These will be messy, uncolored, fullbody sketches for $15. They will not be done in stream. Sometimes I can only be at my computer for very short periods of time. I do not have any examples at the moment.
I will need a reference of the character, personality, and any keywords you want to inspire me with. Like "elegant", "flexible", "Team Rocket Grunt cosplay" etc
TLDR: I will selectively pick some characters to sketch for $15 each. Not everyone will get picked, but I'll do my best.
Long version:
These are not first come, first served. I'll read through the comments, pick the one that inspire me in the moment, draw the sketch, ask for payment, and finally, send the sketch to the buyer. If I skip over you, there's always a chance that I'll come back to you! Maybe I was just in the mood for something cute, or fluffy, or cool at the moment. Doing it this way allows me to put my best efforts into the sketch.
If you decide that you no longer want a sketch, please hide your comment asap. I will hide comments of commissions I've finished to keep the journal tidy. Not everyone who comments is guaranteed a sketch, but I will try to get to everyone eventually! However, if demands manages to outweigh my supply, then I will have to put an end to it eventually.

General | Posted 9 years agoEverything I draw right now looks like complete garbage and it's really stressing me out. I don't want to do crappy work for my commissions, so I end up resketching everything over and over and over and still it looks like garbage.
So, I want to try doodling some freebies. Maybe they'll look like trash and nothing comes of it, or maybe it'll get me back into the groove.
Post refs and ideas below. Feel free to be very vague or very descriptive of what you want drawn. Honestly, a little direction would probably help me out right now.

Or keep reading if you want, but it's not very interesting. :P I have all of this information, and then some, organized in Google Drive but for some reason, I'm more comfortable actively managing my lists on FA. So here it is! I'm finally ready to start paying people back and delivering art, so I'll be marking these off as it's done.

General | Posted 9 years agoAwhile back, I took loans from people on FA to help my mom buy land. I waaaay missed my promised due date to pay everyone back within 6 months, and I'm super duper sorry. There are lots of reasons, but I don't want to get into them all because I want to keep this brief. Cutting to the end of the story, I've been having dental debt (from some very necessary dental procedures I had done over a year ago) looming over my shoulder for a long time. $600 was going toward that debt alone every month, and that has been tough on me.
I recently broke down and decided to start selling things from my Pokemon and game collection, and wow, has that been helping. Once a bank transfer goes through next week, I'll have enough money to pay off the entire owed balance of my dental loan and finally put a stop to that $600/month payment. I'll also have enough to cover my school loan payments for this next month. So, finally, I'm financially set. From here on out, the money I am getting from commissions will be going to pay back the loans that were used to help my mom buy the land. As originally promised, I'm paying people back before doing art for the loans. I'll also try to find a way to make up for breaking my promise on the time frame for anyone who I've upset.
So yeah. If you see me taking more and more commissions, please know that they're all going toward paying you guys back! Just having that extra $600 a month alone is going to help so much, so I'll being making lots of progress soon. Thank you for your patience and understanding~
If you're interested in getting art from me, I'm considering doing in stream PWYW commissions again. Those are awesome because I don't have a queue, and you guys get your art instantly. If you like that, please let me know! If you want a different kind of commission, I'm all ears.

General | Posted 9 years agoIt's a very boring and fairly simple answer. I had a commission that took an extra long amount of time, which pushed my other commissions aside, and made me want to take a few days break. I've also been incredibly depressed. Unrelated to the commission. I cycle through that every now and then. I'm almost done though, don't worry. And finally, my son requires a lot of attention. I've been trying to get him out of the house almost every single day lately to keep him busy and happy. It's very tiring. All that combined has lead to a stall in productivity here. I'm sorry! I miss you too. I miss streaming and making progress and such. :< I have one or two things that I'll be submitting very soon, so hang in there. <3

General | Posted 9 years agoAfter I finish a few commissions, I'd like to do an art trade. However, I'm looking for someone who can draw human males, preferably in an anime-like style. It's fanart. If you meet this criteria, please link some examples of your work below (strong preference for examples that show how you draw humans and males ;P)! You may also suggest other artists who fit the criteria who may do trades. It's okay if they're not currently accepting, I can ask them later, if I ever work up the courage lol.

The file includes high res versions of art I've posted to FA (most of the high res stuff should be about 2500-3000 px on the largest size, a lot are also about 1500-1600 px on the largest size). Also included are some collabs, some sketches, wips, and scrapped images that have either never been seen, only been seen in my streams, or were deleted from FA shortly after posting for one reason or another.
With your purchase, you can also request up to 3 additional high res copies of drawings from my gallery here on FA. If I have a high res version available of the requested images, I'll send them along as well.

Update about the loans / my mom
General | Posted 9 years agoSorry for the lack of updates. Things have been changing a lot and when I thought about updating, something else would change again. Now it's settled and I feel comfortable updating. Basically, the deal didn't go through and the seller sold the land to someone else, but that's a good thing because my mom found an even better plot of land, bigger, with more features. And the seller is willing to do owner financing if she does a large down payment, which I think we may be able to manage. She didn't give me an exact number of what she has in the bank, but we'll see. She's booked a flight to check out the land/town on April 27th. If everything checks out, she's going to move forward with the purchase. I'm going to start working towards paying people back in May, so expect more PWYW streams to come. Thanks <3
