I've always been musically inclined. I learned to play an instrument in fourth grade (first learned to play french horn, then switched to baritone the next year) I was in Band from fifth grade through my High School graduation (I played Baritone through 9th grade then Tuba through graduation). I also was in Choir a couple years and played in a musical that my HS put on in my senior year.
I don't play any of the instruments I used to play in school now (I probably could if I had access to any of them), but I have continued to make music with Cedar Flute and various drums (Native American, Middle Eastern, and African). My wife and some offline friends have told me I should try recording myself. I was nervous at first, but since I got Audacity, I decided "what the hell" and started making a few small recordings just to practice with the program. I will probably share a few of them on occasion here.
Constructive criticism is welcome, but if you really don't like it, I really don't want to hear about it. Just ignore it and move on.

FYI: That last part was added because I've had too many artists just completely trash my work (not constructive criticism, just downright trashing), especially when I used to try drawing. That is why you don't usually see drawings from me on here.

Okay...so I'm doing more writing this year (though I'm still afraid to share my stories), but it's all from stuff I already have in my mind. I wanted to see if I could write something using ideas that are not mine.

I am looking for prompts/ideas such as a character, a setting, an event, or an opening line (or any other ideas or combinations of ideas) that I can try to write a short story (500-2500 words) with. Just make sure you leave it open for me to do whatever pops into my head.

I would not recommend using active fursonas or characters unless you would be okay with them doing something you may never imagine them doing (I don't know anyone's fursonas or characters so my interpretations may be completely different from yours)

I will not write anything adult (I refuse to) and will probably not write fan-fiction with these prompts. I will post these stories on FA as I complete them to see what people think of them (constructive criticism will be welcome). Anyways, if you have any thoughts feel free to comment, and I'll see what I can do. I will not give a timeline for when the stories will be completed or posted, but I will give credit in the post to whoever gave the prompt.

In case anyone is interested I probably won't be on FurAffinity much anymore. I will post a few things once in a while, but most of my activity will be moving to DeviantArt. if anyone is on there feel free to watch me, my username is asazieagle. Do you think my photography is good enough to sell?

The reason I ask is because I am on DeviantArt (asazieagle) as well and have been considering selling prints and more through there. I think it might be fun if I could sell some of my photos. I just don't really have the confidence that anyone would want to buy my art since there are so many other really amazing photographers and artists on there.

To all watchers that may not know, I have been featuring the picture that I post with the most likes from the previous month on my FA during the present month. If I get a tie for most liked I make a journal entry requesting input on which picture I should feature. After approximately a week, if there are responses to the journal or additional faves on either picture, that is the one I feature.

After this last set of pictures from MRCC I will no longer be able to post pictures from there. My wife and I were dismissed as volunteers mainly due to politics in the Board of Directors, which is in charge of the raptor center. I hope to meet with the Director and Assistant Director (the ones that work closest with the volunteers) to get more of the story some time this week. I'm nervous because one of them made it out to seem like we were terrible volunteers, while the other put most of the blame on the Board of Directors trying to make a lot of big changes.Hopefully things will get straightened out during the meeting.

Has anyone else been having problems with FurAffinity lately? I'm getting a lot of error messages the past week.

in 2013 I will change the featured picture of my gallery every month according to which picture from the previous month gets the most Faves. I got my yearly bonus at work the beginning of this month and bought a new computer, a new cell phone, and a new camera. I'm finally out of the dark ages of technology (when Windows was still using years to name their operating systems) This means I will finally start submitting art again. My wife and I got to release 3 birds from MRCC today. 2 Sharp-Shinned Hawks (we each released one). One was just stunned after hitting a window and was only there for a week or 2, the other had something wrong with her shoulder, but I can't remember what, she was there for maybe a month. I will be posting a picture of them a little later.

We also released a female American Kestrel that came in with a broken wing. It took almost 2 months for her to heal, but she flew out great. I was able to get a video of her release, which can be found here:

I hate it when anyone bashes any community as a whole just based on stereotypes and their own personal thoughts as to what the community is about, be it the furry community or races, or religions, or anything.

I haven't experienced that before, but I'd be pretty pissed off about it.

I got into the sexual aspect of the community before I left, and when I stopped being into that stuff, ALL of the furries I used to talk to stopped talking to me. I don't really like that aspect of the fandom, but I don't have anything against it either, all communities/fandoms have some sexual aspect. As long nobody is getting hurt by it, who cares.

I don't have a 'fursona' though I represent myself as a feral Golden Eagle, which I consider my spiritual/true form.

This is a video my mate recorded of me changing Pilgrim the Turkey Vulture's water. Pilgrim is very feisty and bites quite often, so I started using a broom to keep her at bay so she doesn't attack me while I'm changing her water.

Anyways, this is usually what it looks like, she doesn't try to climb up after me or anything, and hops off when I'm done, so I figure she's just having fun playing.

This one is a young Red-Tailed Hawk that we got in at the raptor center about a week ago. There wasn't anything really wrong with him, he just needed some food and water. I'm guessing his parents were just having trouble finding enough food this year. He should be able to hunt on his own soon, so he'll probably be fine.
